Fire one shot and not only will the dogs not bother you again, the owners will make sure they don’t see you either. Lol. But really, if the owners fear consequences to them or their dogs they might control their animals. See what the law does here. One thing is if you are in the hospital with a new one you shouldnt have to obsess over this. What does your husband think should be done.

The whole topic makes me so angry that I would be tempted to run one over to send the owner a message. Disregard for the safety and space of my family and children? Yeah I hope I would not, but I could easily see me “bumping the dog.”

Not my advice, by the way.

Air horn would drive them away! Those are small and fit in your hand with your keys.

I got ahold of my cousin’s husband who is an attorney. He had a couple of good suggestions. One was to approach it as a trespassing incident rather than a dog-at-large incident, which is apparently a “higher crime”. He suggested suing them for a nominal amount of money ($5) per incident in small claims court, which would somewhat “force the issue.” He also suggested approaching the city prosecutor and asking him to help encourage the police to enforce the law.
This would seem like the best tactic at this point. Living in STL County myself, the different municipalities are problematic at times like this. Good luck!!

At this point, we both hope that the citation will encourage them to keep their dogs to themselves.
