I apologize for stating the view that I find the mass boring. Please accept my sincere apology here. I understand that it is rewarding to practicing followers and want to admit that there were times I felt real blessed after sitting through the mass, being involved in the Church, going to nightime meetings with the Pastor and as an opened minded soul want to stand corrected here. The worship we receive now is so lively the time passes so quickly and we are actively involved in reading scriptures and giving (name removed by moderator)ut rather then just listening what is read from the altar and that is why I said that. However, you lack the Eucharist and the special bond with Jesus that all people who partake of the Body and Blood receive.

Hello: I would say fulfilling not entertaining. Yes, I have I feel the undefiled should partake in the Eucharist annually like the Witnesses, similar to how Jesus did this only with his Holy Ones and one who just goes through the motions of the Eucharist, but is defiled here in the “world” is going through a meaningless motion.

I know the Eucharist is sacred to Catholics, but it is for the annointed class of undefiled holy ones. These are all good points that I did question and learn the answer too and thanks for the (name removed by moderator)ut. tommy

There is no easter bunny holiday (pagan or otherwise), nor is there a santa claus holiday. Perhaps you are thinking of the secular community; certainly not Catholics.

You know very well that Christ is the center of our Christmas (Christ Mass) and that Christ is (most especially) the center of our Easter. Since The Church Christianized certain pagan rites/holidays, they now belong only to us by which we celebrate His birth (and yes, it’s a good thing to do) and His suffering, death and resurrection.

What do you think that Matthew meant when he said the road is narrow and crampted and few will find it? Are there not about a billion members of Catholic faith, so how does the narrow and crampted road apply and few will find it?

I know perfectly well what Matthew meant. Yes the road is narrow and cramped but those finding it are determined by Christ Himself, not the wt organization. Once again, only God reads the heart of an individual - NOT the wt.
I remember well that the jws taught that they and only they (all jws) will be protected at Armageddon.

I don’t believe this at all. In fact, I heard earlier on this thread that someone though that the Witnesses thought they were the only ones destined for the annointed ruling class with Jesus, priests and holy ones. Not true.

I believe they think that only about 8,000 more,approximately will be among the ruling class and most Witnesses will be will the larger class that will be included in the resurrection. The 144,000 is a real number for the ruling class! That means they are in the same class with those that learn the divinity of Jehovah’s name, reject idols, and other things I mensioned earlier, prior to the end of the system of things today when Jesus becomes King in Heaven and Satan is hurled from earth.

The reason there is so much confusion about the Witnesses faith here is that for the most part you don’t find many Witnesses here as they do not support internet forum witnessing and influences of the internet. Lets face it, this is the “heart” of the Catholic Apolegetics Department, right here. The reason I happen to be posting is at this stage (5yrs), I am what they call a Bible Student and do much more exploring because I really, really want to know what you guys say, it helps me when I converse face-to-face in supporting my beliefs and defending Jehovah’s name. thanks too for your time as it has been enlightening. blessings, tommy

P.S. a lot of people may not learn the value of Jehovah’s name and his praise through Jesus and that means they too could be saved at the resurrection by learning it then.

Thanks for the encouragement to keep this thread going. I too am pretty amazed that this subject matter has enough interest to keep it active for about 3 months now and personally was going to let it drop into the archives, but wanted to respond each time as it was pulled up. I was a real pest when I first came in here and am sorry now, but wanted to raise some eyebrows.

With the events that have happened in the Gulf I want to repost a thread I put it when I started this one that recieved zero replies. Take a look at it with the disasters that have happened and see if it does make any sense. Have a good day and here it is

God is not to blame for the problems that plague humankind. There are valid reasons to believe that God will soon undo that harm bought on the human family. God has abundant power and invites us to pour out our heart before him Psalm 62:8. Who, though, is to blame when someone gets sick or an animal dies?

God did not create man to get old and die. When the first human pair, Adam and Eve, were in the Garden of Eden, God gave them the prospect of everlasting life right here on Earth. Yes, that is right, right here on earth as everlasting life that most people think is only achieveable in Heaven, somewhere other then earth? God made their life prospects conditional. Adam and Eve violated this prospect and allowed both good AND evil to enter out live as out forfathers as this is where out seed is from. They lied to God and that is why suffering is permitted, it is from the devil and not God. The 144,000 is the ruling class that does more or less go to a spiritual Heaven. The rest have what Adam and Eve initially were given, everlasting life in an earthly paridise which many walks of religion will find who believe and excerise faith in Jesus.

Jesus was put into this world by God and his seed was from the Holy Spirit so that those exercising faith in him would once again be given the opportunity to live in an everlasting life. God provides the means to redeem mankind from sin and yes, death. The price God paid for this redemption was his only Son Jesus. You know the verse in John, God loved the world so much he gave his only Son not to judge us but to save us from the inflictions from the devil.

We can be certain that in God’s due time there will be no more suffering and that mankinds tears will be wiped out from there eye’s. Even if you or a family member die, God has the power to raise us up from the dead and place us in a paradise where there is no satan influences (the enemey of God) and by exercising faith us and others might experience this and God showed us it can be done by raising Jesus and using Jesus to raise Lazerus from the dead as proof of what is to come. And yes, we are in times that are hard to deal with right now as Satan is running freely among earth until Jesus returns to wipe him out as we read in the Book .

To understand Rev 18:4, you must understand who or what Babylon is in the book.

Could be the pagan Roman empire who at the time of the writing of Rev was heavily persecuting Christians (that’s where I lean). Could be Jerusalem (Israel) for the same reason.

In the broader scope of things, the message is clear for Christians througout the ages and of all times - do not be “attached” to this world and all it’s sins and ways etc. Be attached to Christ and His teachings in His Church that He promised will survive to the end of time.

The world will attack you and riducule you and persecute you for for following Christ in this world, in this short passing life, but so what??? God wins! And we are invited to share His victory for eternity. Awesome!!!

Know God, love God and serve God in this world - be happy with Him forever in the next. Simple as that.
