Aren’t we all called to the Truth and the Truth in full?

I worry about having others think they don’t need to come to the Truth because they are “called” to be a etc.

That said, I hope Billy is in Heaven.

I saw Billy in 1994 at the GA dome in Atlanta. He preached God is love, man is sinful and separated from God by that sin and that through Jesus we can be forgiven and made right with God. John 3:16 in the barest sense. He didn’t try to make people Baptists, Catholics, Methodists or anything else. His goal was introducing lost sinners to the Savior. PERIOD. Not on here , but other places people have made some of the most incredibly unchristian comments about this man. I am just curious as to which one of them or who do any of us know who has told even 1/1000 of the people Billy did who Jesus was and that you could trade in an eternity excluded from heaven for an inheritance in the kingdom of God. And all because Jesus loves me, this I know.

Billy Graham lead me to evangelical protestant, he did not lead me to Catholic, St Robert Bellarmine did that, RIP my friend.

The Truth, Kei, is Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Billy Graham was a Christian who knew Jesus and was used by Him to bring others to Him. I am confident that he heard the words we all pray we’ll hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter now into your Master’s joy.”

He was in Nashville 3 times, twice during my lifetime. My mother and her mother traveled all the way from their small town to see him when he was here in the 1950s. When my grandmother passed away, we got all of her correspondence and newspaper clippings. She had saved every one of Rev Graham’s newspaper columns. Every single one. She really admired him.

She, a Methodist and he, a Southern Baptist, their common ground being their love for Jesus the Christ.

Rev Billy Graham was a devout Christian who by the grace of God, reached the masses. I have no doubt that he is in Heaven shaking the hands of all he led to Christ, all of them worshipping Him together in spirit and truth.

Too old for my time so he didn’t have much influence on me. All I know is how toxic his son was so I guess they are different in their respective worldviews. My home state is his resting place so I guess he’s at peace.

Which son? He had 2.

When Billy Graham first came to the territory of the former Soviet Union, many Orthodox to not even know and had never heard of the idea of repentance as “metanoia”, The idea of repentance was a novelty for people who believed in rituals and candles on holidays.

His body will lie in repose at his childhood home until Tuesday and then be moved to the US Capital until his funeral and burial in NC,

The article quotes Graham saying this ‘where no Catholic prelate would tell the President, should he be Catholic, how to act, and no Protestant minister would tell his parishioners how to vote during the election’
No prelate can tell Catholics how to vote. The Church entrusts that to the personal conscience, and the judgment of the individual. So, Graham’s statement of this was in line with that of the Church.
Actually, it was Kennedy who made those remarks during his speech in Texas. I see the point you were making though.

He wasn’t Catholic because that’s not what God called him to be. And perhaps, not as many people would’ve listened to him had he been Catholic.
It may well be there would fewer people in Heaven if not for him, and even fewer evangelical Catholics. One of the pillars of his campaigns was training to evangelize those who did not know Jesus. At that time, a card was filled out on all those converted and sent to whatever church or parish they attended. Yes, he referred Catholics to follow up with their priest.

There have been many who have tried to find dirt on him. Satan is ever the accuser of the brethren. Even in the article above, it was a stretch to make the title about Billy Graham, considering the lack of substance in the article.

It is hard to deny he had a real spiritual gift, a servant’s heart, and a humble spirit. May he enter into the joy prepared for him.

I well remember those cards. He also used to send out letters to those who gave their hearts and lives to Jesus. Not every pastor would do that. But he did. He will be and is greatly missed.

Paid respects today. A bunch of us sang “Amazing Grace” in the rotunda. Rest In Peace Billy.

🤨 so you’re saying, Jesus didn’t want Billy in His Church?

I definitely wouldnt say what lilypadrees said, but…

Billy was in communion, though imperfect. But i think more perfect than many Catholics.
