RIP to Bobby Hutcherson-one of the greatests jazz marimba players & Catholic convert

Never knew until today that Bobby was a Catholic convert! may his soul rest in peace Wonder if he wrote any religious music like Dave Brubeck did? Check out this 2014 interview from the SF Gate: “A convert to Catholicism, he and Rosemary attend Mass every Sunday at Our Lady of the Pillar in Half Moon Bay. ‘I like the ceremony and the ritual,’ says Hutcherson, a 2010 National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master who still does the daily ritual of practicing scales. He can’t play as fast and furiously as he used to, but the feeling is deeper than ever.”
 
Eternal rest grant unto him,O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon him.
