Thank God.

Next they need to take down the Confederate statues in my hometown of Richmond VA.

The southern apologists are going the way of history.

Always interesting to see history change. I’m sure the former pagans in Rome felt mixed feelings about statutes of their former gods being torn down.

I hope they display it somewhere. Probably priceless at this point.

Yes, put all that stuff in a museum somewhere.

Was Lee a Democrat I wonder? Probably.
All of them were Democrats. The entire legacy of slavery and Jim Crow is the legacy of the Democrat Party.
We should applaud the Democrats for finally abandoning their heroes of the past.
Next up, Progressive Democrat heroes Woodrow Wilson and FDR

Then why is it a problem if today’s Democrats want to take down statues of their war heroes?
It isn’t. I said we should applaud it.

The Fox news link was broke.

If the Mayor had left the statue up, it would have been toppled resulting in it’s destruction. What would Forrest Gump say about the Attorney General?

She gets brought up a lot, but as much as she was a eugenicist it seems like she mostly distanced herself from racial eugenics. She was also anti-abortion.

Yes, but she was still an outspoken critic of abortion during her lifetime. She set up Planned Parenthood to encourage the use of birth control. Abortion would have been illegal at the time and she never promoted it being fully legal or available in all cases.

The anti-abortion narrative of Margaret Sanger seems to basically be mostly false.

It wouldn’t bother me if the old Confederate monuments were placed into a museum.
