I’ve noticed a lot of people dont like punk-pop but thats probably cuz they only hear what’s on the radio. there is some good stuff out there like old blink 182 (they turned poppy), old greenday(they turned poppy too), and boxcar racer(they’re the best, tom delonge has redeemed himself). Although there is some anti-God stuff on some of the work of these bands (not that they’re satanic but they do occasionally talk about stuff they shouldnt or are disrespectful towards parents or God, but usually if you get edited stuff that’s taken care of. But besides that, its one baked ride. If anyone is into them make sure to mention it.

RADIOHEAD is the best band in the World!!!

I also like The Mars Volta

what R ur fav rock bands, and what are ur favorite songs?

I’ve been listening to the greatest hits of Nirvana and I’m into Smells like Teen Spirit:yup: , You Know You’re Right:banghead: (the video for the song is great, not like all the others), and Rape Me:thumbsup:

I play guitar and you appreciate this stuff more. by the way, any guitar players here?
I’m a guitarist (14 yrs) & I also play a little bass & percussion (bongos & congas) & I sing.

I’m sorry, but I feel that Nirvana was one of the worst bands ever, their music was absolutely without vision & Cobains “singing” was equivilant to the sounds of a dying hyena. I believe that they almost single-handedly ruined the music industry & spawned a generation of talentless clones & whiny gutter-trash “musicianship”. Complete poo Nirvana was.

I played & sang at church un until about a 2 years ago.
I was in a bar band about a year & a half ago, classic & some modern rock. I played rythmn & sang co-lead vocals.

My favorite bands/artists: BOSTON, Santana, Steve Ray Vaughan, Bad Company, Tesla, the Beatles…

smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_32v.gif A man after my own heart! I absolutely ABHOR Nirvana. Gave rise to junk like Bush and Cortney’s poopoo group Hole. YUCK YUCK YUCK smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_2.gif

The only Seattle band worth listening to is Queensryche. Period. Silent Lucidity is pure genius. I know how to play EVERY song from Boston, Def Leppard, and Dokken (although I can’t get some of the leads, George Lynch is WAY to fast for me to keep time with). I still think the 1st Boston album is the best rock album ever, both from a musicality perspective and just plain recording quality. Granted, Boston absolutely SUCKS in concert. Boring. The best rock show I have ever been to is Triumph. Fight the Good Fight is one of my alltime favorite rock tunes. I like Tesla too, although I really only got into their first album. Modern Day Cowboy is a GREAT tune. Stevie Ray Vaugh is probably the greatest blues guitarist ever (sorry BB King).

Amen, Amen! You guys must be younguns. Does no one love Hendrix here? Or Cream/Clapton? My DH & kids are all about Hendrix & SRV. We also love, love Django Reinhart, Joe Satriani. Can you tell they all play the guitar? DH also is into Yngwie Malmsteen, but i find him very annoying.

Personally, as a child of the 70s I love R&B w/great singing, Gladys Knight, the O’Jays, etc. Not many people really *sing * anymore.

Clapton is great, but he is too stuck on himself. Cream was compilled of the “Cream” of the music industry, a rather arrogant proposition, I’d say. Joe Santriani is Awesome, so is Jeff Beck. I personally like Yngwie, that dude is a savant on the guitar. When I first hear “I’ll see the Light Tonight”, I was like "Whoa! Is that a guy playing the guitar at regular speed? I thought it was one of the Chipmunks on amphetomines.

ZAO is one of the most amazing bands if you ever into the hXc type of music…
I liked old zao…I haven’t gotten the last album…every album is a totally new band…hehehe but at least they kept the name over the years…hehehe

We beat zao for #1 christian band…for a whole one day on www.purevolume.com/sevensorrows hehehee then they kicked our butt and continue to do so.

Hehehe, coming from So Cal…I grew up hating blink 182…but back then, they were just “blink”. They were too goofy/immature live, and too much masterbation talk. There were too many “funny” bands then…vandals, guttermouth, etc.

They don’t necessarily count as a “rock” band, but my husband really likes Barenaked Ladies. Boy, doesn’t that sound funny? It makes it sound like he’s into something he shouldn’t be :o . I like them, too, but just not as much as he does. He also really likes Phish.
Scout :tiphat:

I like all sorts of rock… Poison, Motley Crue, Metallica, Marilyn Manson ( I can’t help liking the music… and how he gets exactly what he wants), AFi, Avenged sevenfold, HIM, Cradle of Filth, Children of Bodom, Duran Duran, The raffiels, Bon Jovi, Queen, Blink182 (old stuff - ‘dude ranch’ album), Greenday, Letters to cleo, Orgy, sheryl Crow, Kill Hannah, Meatloaf.

I also like some christian stuff- Delirious?, news boys, Dc Talk (but i have only heard a couple of songs ).

X X X Fellicia X X X

Ps… I am new by the way:tiphat:

Scott…to each their own…but I LOVE Bush. Unfortunatly they are broken up now…😦

I love Van Morrison, Cat stevens (pre-islam), and my all time FAVORITE…LED ZEPPLIN!!!

Everything but country and pop-punk!! IT’s never appealed to me. I like old psychedelic rock up to hard-core heavy metal and anything in between. My favorite band is (please don’t shoot me) a perfect circle and tool. Some of the song lyrics could be seen as anti-god, but I interpret them as being the singer’s way of expressing his beliefs and his frustration with the establishment that was forced on him (literally forced) as a child. If you don’t listen to those songs in particular, they are still amazing!!
Then I’d have to shoot my husband too!😃 Type O Negitive is on his list w/ Tool.

Mine:

Creed
Linkin Park
Good Charlotte
Avril Lavinge
LMNT
Sheryl Crow
Crystals (old)
Royal Guardsmen
Fleetwood Mac
Supremes
CCR
Billy Joel (some of his…)
and a lot more oldies and new stuff…just can’t remember them all…:o and I’m not a big fan of country…I like mostly oldies (50’s-80’s), (new) rock, and some of the older pop (90’s)…😃

Hendrix
Peter Tosh
Eagles
Robin Trower
Creed
some Goo Goo Dolls
Bob Dylan
The Moody Blues
Santana
enough for now…

Word, those were all bands I listened to when I was 13. At least the Vandals could play, well in the 90’s.
