Without going into detail, I would suggest that whatever course of action you take it is one that still leaves you future options of your liking. That is, for example, if one has radiation and later surgery is required, radiation is no longer an option should the cancer recur. If one has surgery and later the cancer recurs, radiation would be an option. In your case, as you might be considering the radiation bullets, what options would be open to you should you decide upon this course?
While it is true about the rate of growth of the cancer, there can be exceptions. Also, it might be advisable to consider your health coverage and learn what is going on with it. Are there options now that later, because of what’s happening in the healthcare and age, might not be as available or cost prohibitive. So, you state you’re 77 years of age. You decided to wait and see. Then, you learn that, say, at age 83 aggressive treatment is required and your health is not as good?
Just some random thoughts. As you know, being informed is one of your best courses of treatment. Staying vigilant. Pray for wisdom. Be at peace with your decision. May prayers are with you.

Update: I received my latest PSA result and it was great, 0.1. I’m still having some side effects from the external radiation I had last summer and am working on it. Many thanks for your prayers and God bless you all, my friends.
