Romance vs. Practicality in Marriage

How much time have you actually spent in the same place with this man?
What has he done to lead you to believe he would do ‘anything’ to make you happy? He isn’t willing to move, work more hours to provide more money, agree to move back to the Balkans when he finishes his degree?; So far, I am missing all the wonderful and kind things he has done for you.

Yes, I was discussing with my family just the same the other day. It is always presumed, that the woman should leave her career and change location and not the man. This may have made sense historically, when women did not have the same opportunities, but nowadays I can not agree with such predetermination, because it might just be that the woman is more apt to build a career, and be the provider for a family and then for me it is plain silly, and selfish, and a choice driven by pride if the man requires her to make the sacrifice, while he is not in position to support the family by himself. It is just totally unreasonable for me.

He was kind and caring, when I had some troubles and needed a friend to talk to, as moral support, that’s all so far.

Anyway, it is over, and I am glad I did not have to decide, because sometimes it is a difficult battle between the reason and the heart.
