Why am I not surprised?
Rome, Italy, May 17, 2011 / 03:27 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- The chief exorcist of Rome is seeing a rising number of young people coming under the influence of evil, but he has found in recent years that Blessed John Paul II is a powerful intercessor in the battle for souls.
Liked this part, too
And the most powerful intercessor of all?
“Of course, the Madonna is even more effective. Ah, when you invoke Mary!”
“And, once I also asked Satan, ‘but why are you more scared when I invoke Our Lady than when I invoke Jesus Christ?’ He answered me, ‘Because I am more humiliated to be defeated by a human creature than being defeated by him.”

This is further confimation of what I read and learned from the book “The Rite” by Matt Baglio. Demons are forced to speak in reverence of Mary, and fear her as the most powerful intercessor. One them too is St. Gemma Galgani, who like Padre Pio, was hounded by the devil too.

I recently finished reading Baglio’s book and it’s very good.

I have just watched the movie…have not yet read the book, but I will. The movie I thought was excellent and an excellent performance by Anthony Hopkins…(he IMO is one of the best)

In the interview with Fr. Amorth, I found it quite true that most clergy don’t give Satan much credibility. Most of them think exorcisms are a bunch of superstitious hogwash. In response to this idea, I did like the line that Anthony Hopkins (the Italian exocist) had for Fr. Michael Kovak (the role of Fr. Thomas): “Just because you don’t believe in the Devil won’t protect you from him”. 😉

Satan’s best achievement is convincing people he does not exist.:sad_yes:
