It’s so convenient for pro Obama Catholics to point to a lack of perfection in Romney’s position regarding life issues. The fact that MANY people including Dr Nathanson, Abby Johnson and me have also gone from pro abortion to staunchly pro life seems to be an inconvenient truth. I know how pro aborts think because I was one. I was raised by them and simply parroted their secular blather about blobs of tissue. I believe Mitt Romney because I know that nothing would change me back to my former disgraceful state of sin. What’s actually scary is that Catholics hone in on the abortion issue and forget everything else that is wrong with Romney. Many simply ignore the fact that Romney will say whatever he needs to to win. He is pro-life because it suits him now. He’s anti-ACA because it’s convenient. And you also shouldn’t assume that because a person is anti-Romney they are pro-Obama. Neither candidate truly fits a Catholic world view but I generally see comments demonizing Obama without giving Romney his fair share. Both of these men are not great choices but I darn sure won’t be waving the Romney banner because he’s pro-life AT THE MOMENT.
You have ZERO evidence that Mitt Romney would return to what was frankly a rather mild pro choice position (similar to that of John Roberts if you listened to the hearings when he was being considered for SCOTUS). But it does provide some cover to those who are otherwise turning themselves into human pretzels to pretend it doesn’t matter that Obama is fine with infanticide, abortion at any stage, taxpayer funding of abortion, making religious organizations pay for abortion inducing drugs and sterilization and likened a baby to punishment.
Boy it’s pretty hard to distinguish between the two candidates’ positions on life issues
