I see the conflict and understand it. And agree, but, since we are already legislating morality I will support my positions. I would rather we didn’t and didn’t feel the need to. But since we do… Plus, I take Church teachings seriously. I give the Church the benefit of the doubt. They have a lot of really smart people spending a lot of time and energy on these topics with the greatest resources and credibility, Oh yeah, and the Truth.

Republicans and democrats have both been out of control on spending.

Rachel Maddow? Really, c’mon you seem to smart for that… she’s kinda out there…
I respect that is your faith Migueltojose. I like to spread my cable television viewing around. Rachel gives me some good laughs. Sometimes she cracks me up.

10 bucks says he’ll eventually respond to you again.

Your post got me thinking again…just how many liberals have actually read Obama’s books?
Probably not too many of them have actually read the books. Before the 08 election I heard much of Obama’s book which HE narrated…very unusual but the man has an ego the size of NYC.

I watched the Book TV talk on the recent Obama biography by Maraniss who as I said was a slobbering, blubbering tribute to “the chosen one.” One of the questions asked was “What do you think about 2016?” His response “Not a whiff of truth in it!” Of course cheers and howls from the crowd.

The irony: MUCH of the movie is OBAMA NARRATING HIS BOOK IN HIS OWN VOICE.

Basically they said Obama is a liar! As you said, I suspect many had never read the books and perhaps didn’t realize he narrated them himself.

When asked questions about Obama’s detractors he claimed it was all “race and hatred…”

I have to say that this election, the more I see and hear…the more I agree. So much barely concealed jealousy, simmering anger, thinly disguised personal attacks, obsession with banal trivia and myths…What does any of that have to do with a politician’s ability to do the job for which he is elected?

Fortunately for Obama, the bile and pettiness has exactly the opposite of the intended effect, except among some of those who were never going to vote for him anyway. God bless America and God bless its President.

Apart from her sometimes very perceptive comments, Rachel Maddow could have been a successful stand-up comic had she chosen that career. Her delivery and timing are flawless. I recall her saying, with regard to the voter disenfranchisement issue in PA as it affected long-time honor-roll voters of 50 years who are now potentially denied the vote without the necessary voter ID, “no more voting for you.” The way she said that still cracks me up!

I am always amazed at people who find racism in every critique of Obama’s actions. Really you believe this?

What about:
The disastrous economy. NEVER have we had such a stagnation for so long other than the Depression
His massive increase of people in poverty, on food stamps, welfare, Medicaid
The WASTE of BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars on Solyndra, Light Squared etc
His broken campaign promises…the list is LONG
His ATTACKS on religious freedom
His RABID defense of abortion anytime for any reason
A “stimulus package” that spent nearly a trillion dollars and nothing to show for it…even Roosevelt had a lasting impact with building projects
His disastrous foreign policy that has done nothing to improve relations in the Middle East and has spurred on the recent violence
Obamacare which actually makes costs increase and reduces access

I frankly don’t have enough time to list everything I dislike about the Obama presidency.
I’m not sure what any of his overall incompetence and big government philosophy has to do with his skin color. Maybe you can connect the dots somehow?

Wow,for a minute,I thought you were referring to the nasty specious attacks on Mitt Romney by the Dems and the leftist media…:rolleyes:However, you did get the first part of your post right!😃

That “race and hatred” that Obama mentions is mostly what has been ginned up since he
first started running for president. I was appalled at hearing a top democrat describe him
as “clean” and some other descriptions that would have run a republican out of office
There is legitimate opposition to Obama, his ideas (redistributionalism for one), or his
policies, but the race card is thrown in as the reason. I dislike Obama’s actions, governing, etc., but I don’t hate him, nor do I care about his color. I just don’t want him
leading our country and denying the religious freedom and liberty of my holy church.
A relative of mine is a top democrat “operative” (not meant to be demeaning, that is what
these pr persons are described as) and he is/was very open of the strategies that they
employ, like spreading lies and then “semi” retracting them, knowing that for the most
part the message is successful in smearing the opponent. He laughs about it and says
the republicans can’t do it because no one would print or talk about enough to make an
impact. (Meaning that the MSM would not “run” with it like they do for the democrats.)

Isn’t she a comic? I had no idea anyone took her as a serious journalist. She’s like the Left’s answer to Rush or Sean

Some of Obama’s campaign promises have been met, including getting our troops out of Iraq, taking out Osama bin Laden, and repealing the “don’t ask, don’t tell” military policy. In fact, Obama has been unusually hawkish in his foreign policy, with more drone attacks than in the previous administration. In all fairness, can we really blame Obama for the uprisings of the people in the Middle East? If so, then let’s also give him credit for foiling any further attacks from Al Qaeda on US soil since 9/11. That in itself is a major accomplishment.

Romney has also had accomplishments such as saving the Olympics and his Romneycare health plan. There, I can admit it. Surely, Lisa, you too can find something you like about Obama’s policies; just try a little harder.

I agree. Reading too many posts on the Forum, one might think that the only thing the President has done since the election was to deposit his paychecks into the bank. I’m particularly impressed by his decisive military actions, something Republicans don’t like to attribute to a liberal.

Obama and the MM know he is going to lose this election, and lose big . What you are seeing is a laying out of their excuses which will be almost totally focused on America as a racist nation. The left can never accept the idea that people are rejecting their philosophy so in their mind it either has to be they did a poor job of getting out their message or there was no way they could overcome the inherent racism and bigotry of the overwhelming majority of white people in this country.

I am a middle class senior, part of the “lucky” 53% that Mr. Romney will apparently care about, if he were to be elected.

I pay a lot of income tax (much more than Mr. Romney, even when he cynically manipulates his tax rates, i.e., his 2011 return.)

I have never received food stamps, but never begrudged helping those who needed them.

I have never needed to use unemployment insurance, but never thought it “wrong” to use something that individuals pay into for just such emergencies.

I have never used Medicare, but believe it is a good system I have paid for and that, with careful management, will be there when I need it.

I have yet to take social security, but have paid into it my whole working life and expect and demand that it be there for me and for my children and grandchildren.

I am also not crazy.

I would not under any circumstances vote for Mr. Romney. His vision of what America is and what it should be are loathsome.

I will be voting early for President Obama and for the future of my grandchildren.

Bob, you’re the only one I know of who reiterates that Obama is going to lose the election, AND LOSE BIG. Is this a feeling you have, or are you in contact with well-informed sources that predict this?

What good are any of these programs to those who are denied the right to life? Whatt good are these programs to your grandchildren if 60% of their income is going to pay off the debt their grandparents ran up? As a Catholic how do you reconcile voting for a man who supports unrestricted taxpayer funded abortion on demand and homosexual marriage with the teachings of the Church?

I am a well informed source. The reason Obama is going to lose big is the MM can no longer manipulate public opinion with lies, distortions and half truths. There are too many other places where the truth is readily accessible. Unless one believes that the Democrats turnout in 2012 will exceed Republican turnout by 13% Obama is behind by double digits in nearly every poll. Its not even going to be close.

Melzerboy he can hardly take credit for getting the troops out of Iraq. He simply implemented the policy in place set by President Bush before his departure. I was extremely involved in a troop support group from 05 on and kept track of Iraq War policies and plans. So OK he went along with a Bush policy…fine.

I am TOTALLY against repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell but if he promised that and sadly got it done, well OK give him credit for implementing something.

He did NOT foil attacks from AlQaeda…that is just spin. It was quick thinking citzens or law enforcement that stopped the “Underwear Bomber” and the “Times Square Bomber.” Further the recent Embassy assassinations were AlQaeda and our embassies ARE American soil. Further to claim the Nadal Hassan murders were “workplace violence” when the man was in direct contact with an Al Qaeda leader (thankfully sent to meet Allah recently) and screaming “allah akbar” as he shot down his unarmed brothers and sisters in the military.

And yes I do blame Obama for the uprisings in the Middle East. He has presented capitulation, apology, and blaming others when dealing with the Islamsists. His crowing and chest beating over Osama’s death was not only unnecessary but compromised our Spec Ops forces AND is ginning up more violence. Had he not claimed that by sheer force of his magnetic personality that things would change in the Middle East I wouldn’t put so much blame on him but he is so egotistical he thinks the Wonders of Obama would reverse thousands of years of hatred.

He should not be taking such credit for the Bin Laden killing. Aside from multiple reports he was dragged kicking and screaming to give the go ahead by Hillary and Leon Panetta, the reality is that the intel was done under Bush, not Obama. They knew where Osama was for some time but Obama wanted such assurance that the mission was delayed. Further the doctor who helped us is rotting in jail. So much for the US loyalty.

What do I like about Obama? He seems to be a good model for black men regarding responsibility to his family. He should use this more to help change that culture and reduce unwed births. I am fine with the drone strikes. I think it’s a good tactic and one we should have used more in the past. Obama seems to be a good singer and can be charming when he wants to. His girls are cute. That’s about it.

Now don’t think I believe Bush was the Next Coming either. I think Bush’s policies were the REASON we ended up with McCain and then Obama. So if you want a list of what I liked and disliked about Bush let me know. I’m not simply anti Democrat and I’m sure not a racist. I’d have been delighted to have Herman Cain or Clarence Thomas as our nominee. It’s not the color it’s the lack of competence that gives me ODS.
