Preferably through the supreme court, which if I’m not mistaken is te proper course. Hopefully he could get a couple of good libertarian justices in there.

Unconstitutional legislation is bad legislation no matter how much the people like it.

There are ways to do it, such as trying to repeal certain aspects of the legislation or voting to defund it. But Paul has long talked about following the Constitution, and so not following the Constitutional procedures is not something that I could envision him doing.

Right- I certainly hope that a President Paul would follow and respect the Constitution and not try to act as a dictator, enforcing his own strict interpretation of the Constitution both over long-standing precedents and the clear will of Congress. If I could have an assurance of that, I would be ready to concede the electability question.

Well at least you know he’d be better than George Patriot Act Bush and Baracka NDAA Obama who both support military action without a declaration of war.

The group that named Rick Santorum as the “most corrupt” senator of 2006 was a left-wing group dedicated to defeating Republican candidates in close races. Santorum was in a tough race in 2006 and the organization in question is staffed by partisan left/liberals. Shame on Ron Paul for this low blow. It will be nice when this guy finally withdraws (if his ego will allow ).

I’ve spent many hours scouring through political philosophy and moral consistency and this is the conclusion I’ve come to:

The moral soundness of the principles Ron Paul espouses put him in a league of his own among politicians of the past century. He should be the only rational choice for Catholics, Christians, and anyone else who values moral, principled consistency.

Couldn’t that be said of pretty much any candidate? 😛 The fact that Santorum and Gingrich are both bound and determined to stay in is the reason Romney will probably win SC.

I happen to think Santorum is corrupt for many reasons. A chief one is his support of Republican turned Democrat and super pro abortion Senator Arlen Specter.

When Ron Paul left Congress he went back to being a doctor and serving people by delivering babies. When Santorum left he, like all the others, worked in lobbying and was paid well for that work. Santorum says lots of nice things but at the end of the day is more than happy to compromise principles. The most troubling aspect about his campaign is his urgent desire to bomb Iran and kill people in a country that has done nothing to us and does not have the capability to nor is insane enough to if they did. In fact I believe the other night he said Iran was our most pressing problem. Really? I thought our debt, abortion, divorce, drug use, rate of incarceration, declining quality of education, size of the federal government, loss of freedom and a few other things might qualify for our biggest problem.
 
I could not vote for Ron Paul for many reasons, yet of all the many reasons, the most significant is this:

The USA has its problems, many actually, yet it is still an awesome nation and remains the best in history. I wish Ron Paul felt that way, yet it appears that all he ever has to say is negative things about this country. I wonder why he is not a Democrat.

He doesn’t hate the USA. That is calumny in the highest order. He hates what the politicians and the Fed have done to the people of this country. He is not a Democrat because he is not a socialist. He believes the PEOPLE of this country are good, but the politicians are aweful. How you cannot see that is his recurring message is beyond me. You have to actually TRY to see something different than his message. The fact of the matter is that Paul caucuses with Republicans and stands with them on almost everything…except government overreach and anything that is not grounded in the Constitution. It is the politicians who pass things like the NDAA, raising the debt ceiling, passing continuing resolutions without balancing the budget, etc… that HATE this country, not Ron Paul.

I disagree. All I hear from Paul is hate, hate, hate for this nation. I’d just once like to hear him acknowledge American exceptionalism. Instead, he desires to isolate the USA from the rest of the world (a very anti-Christina btw), and he seems to see nothing worth praising in this land, or our system.

Even during the debate the other day, he made the statement that the USA judicial system is racist! That is simply wrong, and just shows the disdain he has for this country.

He thinks we brought 911 on ourselves–he blames the USA.

I think we should all hate what America has BECOME. A nation that commits mass murder on the unborn, promotes homosexuality, is in the continued process of de-Christianizing itself, embraces globalism and military aggression, accepts a de-facto government’s destruction of our Constitution and Bill of Rights, while a controlled, corrupt and thoroughly untrustworthy newsmedia fails to report on anyone of this. America elected Barack Obama president, so I’d say right there, that’s a pretty good indication this country is morally bankrupt.
