…(sigh)… Really? Why is it that so many arguments against voting for Ron Paul end up with insults? Those supporting him will have their morality impugned and their intelligence questioned. May God give us all the patience and charity to stand by our moral convicts with dignity.
Your holier-than-though sigh and post fall flat after posting that Republicans (such as me, no doubt, since it was in response to me) cause your distaste for the party, and that polls are used for propaganda and misdirection for those who are into that (again, in response to me).

I join you in your prayer and will work on my own charity, but please don’t lecture me. You have no moral high ground to post from.

Just face it. Ron Paul was right. This is a video I did. I can confirm it’s me by posting something on the video page as my username CollectiveCheckup.

Good video. Nobody in politics speaks the plain Truth like Dr. Paul. NOBODY. We are blessed to have him and it’s no wonder so many attempt to tear him down. By not supporting Dr. Paul we will have missed an opportunity to begin fixing Washington.

Well, its just become very dirty all the way around from where I sit. Lots of cash sunk into the smear comercials and accusations at the moment.

I just wanted to chime in. I’m fairly new but I’m voting for Dr.Paul. I cant see any reason not to. I want peace and he is the only one talking about staying out of others business. I understand that everyone has their vote but why should we go to war with Iran we have no money. If we have so much money to war munger then give me some :p. I’m going to start praying to rosary again to give me patience and to have mercy on all of us and give us wisdom to vote for the right person.

God bless

I’ve lived 50 years on this planet, and I hope I have gained some wisdom in that time, Lord knows I have a ways to go. My wife and I are “old souls”. our parents were older when we were born, so we both relate to the values of a generation now rapidly disappearing.
I suppose they saw the ‘war fever’ themselves when they were young. Boys going off to war with all the enthusiasm of going off to summer camp.
My father was a WW2 veteran. His generation saw things overseas that changed them forever, as any war does. My uncle was wounded at the D-Day landing. He rarely spoke about the war and when he did (so my dad related), this VERY large stocky man would cry like a baby.
The soldiers who actually experienced war were usually the ones who didn’t view it as some kind of video game. Only armchair warriors who like like to play GI Joe with their bellies bouncing in the woods “enjoy” war.
My parents generation had a proper respect for life. I know if my father and uncle were alive today they would be HORRIFIED at Americans advocating what they defeated in WW2, torture, drone attacks on civilians who “might” be terroists, detaining people without trial indefinately. The kind of tactics that drove the Nazis into historical defeat.
I suppose only those with a proper understanding of history weep at the direction our country is headed in. The idea that some can dare to bring religion into it, boggles the mind. The fact that Catholics support it, is tragic.
Jesus said “you live by the sword, you die by the sword”.
Open your eyes folks. Get off the emotional parade drummed up by polititians and talking heads on TV. Stop assuming God is on your side. Violence only leads to more violence. Torture leads to more torture. War to suffering. It’s not “fun”.
You live by the sword, you die by the sword.
If we go down this path of attacking Iran, I truly fear we are starting something that could very easily get out of control, and become a global tragedy.
Our Lady at Fatima said war is a punishment for sin. We are now coming up to the 100th anniversary of the Fatima apparitions…
Maybe some of us need to turn off Bill O’Rielly and pick up our Rosary beads.
The respect for life during WW2 wasn’t exactly great among certain US leaders then neither.

Can Ron Paul supporters here please explain why all over Mitt Romney, Santorum and Gingrich and frankly on video of somebody that is running against Paul in the Republican primary has ‘Ron Paul 2012’ all over them, references to how Ron Paul is the best etc. It is almost cultist.

Expressing the belief that Ron Paul is the only realistic choice for president, does not make him a cult like figure. In fact Ron wins that argument by default simply because the rest of the Republican nominees are so horrible. Not one of them has a problem with the continued gutting of our Bill of Rights and Constitution. Those who are afraid of a Ron Paul presidency, have nothing to worry about though, your next president will be Obama or Romney, and either way you can count on more war, more loss of freedom, and a devastated economy.

This should show you how popular Dr. Paul actually is and how much the establishment and main stream media want to keep that quiet.

Have you seen this? Notice the news medias think the people are sheep.

"In what’s becoming an annual media tradition, Fox News used its holiday card to wish friends and family well this holiday season–and take a swipe at CNN and MSNBC.

The front of Fox News’ 2011 card–distributed to media journalists including this one–features a cartoon fox leading ABC, NBC and CBS in a sheep-sled race, with the jockeys for MSNBC and CNN watching from the sidelines. (The idea is that Fox News, the top-rated cable news network, is so far ahead, it’s now competing against the the Big Three networks.)"

Gosh, I must be deaf or stupid. I fail to see such a liberal-biased media as I read about continuously here on CAF. In fact, every time I turn on the radio, I hear a conservative - usually an ultra-conservative like Rush or Hannity or Ingraham or Savage (and the list is very, very long) - ranting on and on with half-truths at best.

** True, MSNBC is very biased, like Fox**. They seem to balance one another, and serve mainly to confirm the opinions of their viewers. CNN is basically neutral and has less viewers. Sad, isn’t it, that so many people are biased and choose to listen to/watch only those who strengthen their biases?

**I myself am independent**, by heritage a Republican but basically trying in my tiny way to do what seems best for the country. I'm a bit cynical about both parties as most politicians suffer from that innate sin of self-centeredness. Their main goal seems to be to seek reelection, and picking up as many bucks as possible to make that possible - and then a remunerative job as a lobbyist ('historian'?) when they leave Congress.

**The present Republican primary battle is a disgrace**. I would find it very hard to vote to Gingrich or Santorum, and am not impressed by Perry or Romney. Pawlenty may have been the best of them and he dropped out early. Huntsman seems reasonable, too, but he seems to be going nowhere. Now, as for Ron Paul, I admire his courage in speaking so honestly on the issues while others play all sorts of word games. I also applaud his overall position on foreign affairs, though I am more of an internationalist and less of an isolationalist than he seems to be. In other words, I am supportive of the UN with all of its faults, and believe in reaching out in the spirit of Christ to aid those in enormous need - victims of poverty, earthquakes, tornados, etc. As for Paul's condemnation of our interventionist war policy - amen! Perhaps I could vote for him for that reason alone? Not sure. He strikes me as somewhat too anarchistic, rather a hold-over from those years before social security and other measures to protect those in need.
** We need a ‘compassionate conservative’** - like an Eisenhower or a George H.,W. Bush I, perhaps. Or, even a Kennedy (without all of his personal affairs, of course). Even Nixon. If I recall, his administration launched the meals-on-wheels and such.

** As much as I am disappointed with Obama, I may be forced to vote for him** - depending. If he is opposed by Gingrich or Santorum, I certainly am more likely to support Obama. I know this is unpopular to say here on CAF, but I was very proud of America and my fellow countrymen when the majority put aside that virus of racial bigotry that was a national disgrace for centuries and elected a biracial president. As we approach Dr. King’s birthday that still resonates with me. I fear that the defeat of Obama could be misinterpreted, especially overseas. Maybe not. Something I have to think about over the next 10+ months.

**God bless America**. I'm sure we can agree on that.
PS I wish that many of those who are gungho about opposing abortion (which I also oppose except in rare situations) were as vocal and zealous when it came to opposing needless wars that kill, maim and destroy. They see so clearly that it is a crime to abort a fetus but okay to slaughter young men in uniform and unarmed civilians. I guess the ends justify the means in some cases but not in others? The Amish, Mennonites and Quakers have something to teach us.

You might be. If all you are hearing is Rush, Hannity, Ingraham or Savage; then you are claiming the “media” consists of 1 or 2 radio stations per market. Not too bright to make an assessment of the media based on that.

** No, the radio airways are totally dominated by the right**. I can’t think of a liberal commentator on the radio, though I haven’t made a major effort to find one. It’s true that NPR does try to balance its coverage, with perhaps a little liberal leaning.

** I named only a few of the rightwingers that one gets if they tune in their radios**. I omitted dozens of them, many local. The largest station in this area has right-wing commentators from 9 a. m. right through to 6 p. m. - no letup. Add to the list I provided before: Boortz, Laddy, Grant, van Susteran, O’Reilly, Morris, Miller, Malkin, Drudge, Medved, Dornan, North, Coulter - and many, many more. Now, there are some moderate conservatives that I personally hear/read with deep respect, because they seldom promote wild reports and crazy conspiracy theories. I would include in this group Cal Thomas, George Will, and Peggy Noonan. And there are others.

** Again, it is a simple fact that the radio is overwhelmingly dominated by the far rightwing.** I have a beloved family member who is under their influence and she still is sure that Obama is a secret Muslim who forged a birth certificate, who deliberately wants to wreck America to permit the triumph of shariah law, etc.Tragic that such absolute nonsense resonates among so many who subject themselves to daily doses of falsehoods.

**Now, consider Gingrich for a moment.** Adelson has provided him $5 million. Adelson is a multimillionaire because of casinos - getting rich off the weakness of far too many who shouldn't waste their money on gambling. Do you think for a minute that if Gingrich gets into the White House (please, God, no!) Adelson won't want favors? Adelson says openly that he gave the money to back Gingrich's view on Israel, who said - for example - there were no such thing as the Palestinians. I have Palestinian stamps going back to the 1920s when it was established following its freedom from the Ottoman Empire. But that is 'Gingrich history' - edited to make him look smart. Gingrich is a clever opportunist.
** Okay, this thread is on Ron Paul.** He has had the guts to challenge our policy re Israel and the Palestinians. This is not the place to debate that, but much of the mess in the world stemming from terorists is because the Israelis keep grabbing more Palestinian land and building settlements with our tax money. We can and should be both pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian by insisting on a peace formula that brings justice to both sides: security to Israel and justice and freedom to the Palestinians. We are in a position to do that, Because of votes and especially money Paul is the only well-known politician that has shown courage and wisdom on this explosive issue. That could make me vote for him if I have that chance, even though I differ from him on various other important issues. I do admire his courage. Those few in Congress who did challenge Israeli policy - like Fulbright (D), McCloskey (R), Findley (R), Percy (R) and a couple others - were defeated after huge amounts of money were poured into the campaign chests of their opponents. Two books to read: They Dare to Speak Out and The Israel Lobby and US *Foreign Policy. *
**God bless America.**

Simple. That is radio. In this century,* television* is the predominant media, and where most get their news.

Yes, we now have Fox, that used to be fair and balanced, now only trying to balance the scales by being three times more biased that the other three major networks. I guess it is a math thing.

What is your definition of a cult? I can not understand how it would apply in supporting a politician for president.
