And the solution to the problem is?

Why is so much time and effort expended on blaming the homos for all these problems?

Is there an ulterior motive for blaming the homos for the scandals? What could that motive possibly be?

After all, I’m tired of seeing “The homos did it!” and no positive solutions brought forth to prevent this in the future. As a same-sex attracted person, I had nothing to do with what happened and want nothing to do with it. I’m shocked and appalled by the whole mess, but this continual, unceasing, unqualified “The HOMOS did it!” is starting to really grate on the nerves and is starting to look like a personal attack on all homosexual (gay or non-gay) persons in the Church.

So, what’s up!?

This is an excellent observation.
They never learn to do anything appropriate with their sexual urges and seek ways to surpress or express them. I think the priesthood draws these people like flies. I have sexual urges and those are dirty. If I get closer to God they’ll go away…etc. and then you put them in a position of authority with the one group that can express their sexuality with and not feel threatened, youngsters. That’s not to say celibacy is the cause. These people are seeking celibacy in a way, but they are not called to it, so it’s not going to work for them.

Actually, I’d say that’s a problem for a lot of Americans which is why we, on the one hand, freak out when we see a boob on national television at the same time knowing that pornography is one of the most popular things viewed on the internet. I don’t find this double standard towards sexuality in other cultures, especially other Catholic cultures.

Simply follow time tested, universal Church norms:
Advantage to religious vows and ordination should be barred to those who are afflicted with evil tendencies to homosexuality or pederasty, since for them the common life and the priestly ministry would constitute serious dangers.

Because so much time and effort has been expended by the enemies of Christ and His Church trying to blame this crisis on celibacy in the priesthood, and trying to implicate the only man in the post-VII Church who has actually done something to try to reverse the crisis, Pope Benedict XVI.

Exposing the Truth, as opposed to this smear campaign against the Church, the Pope, and traditional Church moral teachings.

I have never,ever,ever blamed all homosexuals for the sins of a few and I resent your implication and demand an apology.I have said repeatedly;not all men are rapists,not all heterosexuals are pedophiles,not all homosexuals are hebephiles,but some are-some in the priesthood who have disgraced themselves,shamed us and inflicted MORE wounds on the Body of Christ
.According to what I have read Benedict has ordered that homosexuals be precluded from the seminaries which is unfair to those good potential priests who suffer from SSA but who are committed to a life of celibacy.
What I feel for those who suffer from SSA is deep empathy.What I think of practising homosexuals is also empathetic,but it is sinful behaviour and we must pray for them not burn them at the stake.Where do you think the term “faggots” came from-it came from the bundles of wood used to burn homsexuals at the stake.I am a single heterosexual man and for me to have sex with a woman outside the Sacrament of marriage is just as sinful in God’s eyes and I am just as culpable as those who indulge in homosexual genital relations.

The operative word is root.

Homosexuality is not at the root of the current sex abuse scandals.

However much some catholic bishops clergy and laity would conveniently like that to be the case.

Agreed.

The root of the current sex abuse scandals is twofold:
  1. Atheist priests
  2. Disciplinary inertia when dealing with the above.

Homosexuality is disordered. To participate in that lifestyle is deviant. Why would you want a person who lives a deviant disordered life, or who has disordered sexual desires around children? Not all who are sexual disorederd are homosexuals but all homosexuals are sexually disordered.

People need to see homosexuality for what it is.

The ROOT cause is sin as expressed in homosexual hebephiliac abuse of young men and adolescent boys.A percentage of homosexuals are afflicted with this as a percentage of heterosexuals are afflicted with pedophilia.You keep denying the evidence and repeating your mantra without offering a scintilla of evidence that it is anything BUT the root cause.

I know PLENTY of athiests who would never dream of molesting a child,boy,man or woman.Your statement is a calumny against athiests everywhere
