Hi there,
I am curious if a rosary is considered a true rosary if I accidentally miss 1 or at most 2 Hail Marys per decade. I am asking as I feel like I might have missed one every time I say it especially since I use my fingers to count how many I said, I kinda have the same trouble with using the rosary beads.

Thanks

I get these troubling thoughts while praying the rosary as well. I simply try to push them out of my mind. It is the good intention you are pursuing that matters. The Blessed Virgin Mary appreciates your efforts. The evil one works overtime when he sees us turning to Mary and tries to distract us and lead us to despair. God bless you.

I don’t worry about it. By the time the 10th bead is finished and the Glory Be begins, my fingers are ready for the next Mystery.

Try not to “scruple” over this! God knows your heart and your intentions. He is not waiting for you to offer nine “Hail, Mary” prayers and slap on another two weeks in purgatory! He loves you unconditionally and infinitely no matter how well you do.

In my experience, the tendency is to offer 11 or even 12 - particularly if you are fatigued or sleepy at all. On occasion, I have offered several decades and my fingers are still on the second or third decade!

Not a problem! Still a Rosary!

Heck, sometimes you might accidentally say an extra, so I think it all evens out 😉
