Rosary more than once a day?

I say the Rosary everyday, but there are some days I feel so overwhelmed I would like to say it again. Is that wrong? Or is there another prayer I could say (besides the other daily ones?) Thanks!
 
Of course it’s not wrong–pray it as often as the Spirit moves you 🙂

But, if you’d like something else, might I suggest the Divine Mercy Chaplet?🙂

Not at all. If you’re up to it, go right ahead. If you need something to pray for, please remember me and my family.
 
I read a book about the Rosary recently (either by Lafrance or by Llewelyn, I can’t remember which) that said that Padre Pio prayed the Rosary constantly – sometimes as often as 35 times in one day. (I presume that meant a chaplet of five decades, 35 times a day.)
 
Absolutely nothing wrong with it - some days I say a few extra decades or even a whole extra Rosary.

Padre Pio prayed it constantly, in between his other duties, so I’m sure he got through more than one a day.

You may wish to take up the Divine Mercy Chaplet as an addition - I’m assuming you don’t say it already.

Try it, keep praying it if you like it. Otherwise if you’re moved to say the Rosary more often then feel free to.
 
Excellent! Thanks to everyone who suggested Divine Mercy Chaplet - for some reason I didn’t think I could say it because I thought I needed a special set of beads. I will start saying it asap! :yup:

I say the rosary sometimes three times a day. Just depends how much “thinking time” I have

Last night I was able to pray all 20 decades straight through :heaven: I haven’t been able to do that since the night I was in labor with our 8 month old! It left me feeling very much at peace and close to God. I can still feel some of the effects today!
 
The Divine Love Prayer may also be said on Rosary beads:

A "Glory Be’ replaces the “Our Father” while the “Hail Mary” is replaced by these prayers to Jesus, each recited 10 times, until all 9 decades are completed:

1 - Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, I adore You and I praise You in union with the Nine Choirs of Angels.

2 - Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, Burning with love for me, inflame my heart with love for You.

3 - Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, Thy Kingdom come.

4 - Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, Make us one in mind, heart, and will, with You, the Father and the Holy Spirit.

5 - Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, Gentle and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Thine.

6 - Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, through the infinite value of each Holy Sacrifice of the Mass offered now and until the end of time, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

7 - Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, Thank You for the personal love You have for me in the Blessed Sacrament.

8 - Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, with all my heart, I love You.

9 - Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, I put all my trust in You.

This prayer is especially nice during Eucharistic adoration.

We all think it is fantastic that you feel you’d like to pray more than one Rosary a day, truly a grace from God!

Have you ever been introduced to Rosary novenas? They are quite beneficial particularly when it comes to stubborn sins or seemingly impossible cases.

There is a little book (size 3 x 5 inches) put out by the Benziger publishing company out of New York, with an original copyright of 1926. It is called, Rosary Novenas to Our Lady, by Charles V. Lacey. It has Cardinal Spellman’s Imprimatur. This is an invaluable book, giving the history of the rosary and other important information.

For those that may not know, it lists ***the Fifteen Promises ***made to Saint Dominic and Blessed Alanus, they are as follows:

**1. To all those who will recite my Rosary devoutly, I promise my special protection and very great graces.
  1. Those who will persevere in the rectiation of my Rosary shall receive some signal grace.
  2. The Rosary shall be a very powerful armor against hell; it shall destroy vice, deliver from sin, and shall dispel heresy.
  3. The Rosary shall make virtue and good works flourish, and shall obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies; it shall substitute in hearts love of God for love of the world, elevate them to desire heavenly and eternal goods. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means!
  4. Those who trust themselves to me through the Rosary, shall not perish.
  5. Those who will recite my Rosary piously, considering its Mysteries, shall not be overwhelmed by misfortune nor die a bad death. The sinner shall be converted; the just shall grow in grace and become worthy of eternal life.
  6. Those truly devoted to my Rosary shall not die without the consolations of the Church, or without grace.

In, “the Secret of the Rosary” or something like that, St. Alphonsus Liguori often talks about praying the rosary daily-- and what he means is praying the full rosary daily, that is, all 15 mysteries (at the time).

Personally, I think that’s a bit much. However, everyone’s spirituality will be different-- perhaps for you it is most appropriate to pray the rosary multiple times.

I’d like to suggest something else though. In PJPII’s letter, Rosarium Virginis Mariae, in which he promulgated the luminous mysteries, he gives a lot of good reasoning why the rosary has such a great place in common Catholic spirituality-- it is a simple method that is very deep. But here’s one thing he notes, which I find especially true:
This need for concreteness finds further expression in the announcement of the various mysteries of the Rosary. Obviously these mysteries neither replace the Gospel nor exhaust its content. The Rosary, therefore, is no substitute for lectio divina; on the contrary, it presupposes and promotes it. Yet, even though the mysteries contemplated in the Rosary, even with the addition of the mysteria lucis, do no more than outline the fundamental elements of the life of Christ, they easily draw the mind to a more expansive reflection on the rest of the Gospel, especially when the Rosary is prayed in a setting of prolonged recollection.

He basically sets up a very interesting symbiotic relationship between lectio divina and the rosary-- each one is dependent on the other, and the rosary feeds off of the divine wellspring of the scripture.

So I recommend looking into lectio divina-- basically, meditating with and praying the scriptures. If this sounds appealing to you, look for, “Too Deep For Words,” by Thelma Hall, which is a good introduction.

Read the apostolic letter and see whether you agree with PJPII.

There are times due to my crazy business schedule that I don’t get to say the rosary in the AM but alot of times on those days, I am free at 3:00 PM so I will say the Divine Chaplet of Mercy. I have stumbled upon another Chaplet that I really love, which is the “Chaplet of Conversion”. Can be said on regular rosary beads. It is perfect for me as I pray so much for the conversion of the world. It’s beautiful. Problem is that I still have to carry around the instructions with me, as I don’t have it yet memorized. I will post it if anyone would like it.

Is the book cover blue? I had one years ago but it got worn down. I carried it in my purse everywhere I went! I definitely have to get another one!

Yes, it is blue on the outside.

My mother gave it to me along with other christian books, so it has a special meaning for that reason too. I found inside the last cover she had tried to erase all the names she had penciled in, those she had said this wonderful 54-day novena for.

I know she prayed for each of her seven children and their spouses, all of her grandchildren, and then friends that the Lord would put on her heart.

We have all benefited by her humble devotion. It has led me to see that I as a parent must pray for my children, and those the Lord gives me a special burden to take up.

Meanwhile, the one praying receives more graces than ever anticipated – strength to get through life’s toughest trials.

Our Blessed Mother holds a special place in the heart of Jesus, therefore He has decided to bless in a particular way those who honor His mother. She truly becomes our mother, too.
 
I know Padre Pio prayed multiple Rosaries a day. And he was kinda holy. 😃

no it’s not…you are lucky god has graced you with such a love for the rosary and an ability to say it…i myself would struggle to get through one decade, never mind one rosary

Or is there another prayer I could say (besides the other daily ones?) try short prayers…either ones from a website or make some up of your own…jesus, bless the homeless and those living in poverty…jesus comfort the sorrowful…jesus cure and heal the dying…jesus assist and save the dying…jesus release all the holy souls in purgatory…jesus release the souls of my family and friends and relatives and benefactors and acquaintances who are in purgatory…etc you can make them up to suit the intention you pray for…and you can say as many as you want…

CHAPLET OF CONVERSION:

This can be said on regular rosary beads.

Make the sign of the cross and on the Crucifix say the Apostles Creed for the unbelievers of the world as well as "fallen away"family and or friends.

On the first bead (the first group of three beads) say one Our Father in petition to the Father for the grace of conversion of the world.

On the second bead say one Hail Mary honoring the father for the exaltation of Mary, a mere creature, and for choosing to honor her with the title: Queen of Heaven and Mediatrix of all graces.

On the third bead say one Hail Holy Queen

On the single bead say:

O Holy Mother, I join you at the foot of your Son’s Cross to implore mercy and conversion for the souls of the whole world.
With you I offer the wounds of your Son Jesus to the Father in atonement for the sins of the world, past, present, and to come.

On the next 5 beads (I usually do 10 as I use my rosary) say:

Through the sorrowful, bleeding, Immaculate Heart of Mary, and in union with the suffering of her Son Jesus on the Cross, I implore from the Father the grace of conversion for the world.

To conclude each section and on the single bead say One Hail Mary to honor Mary’s tears of sorrow and the following prayer:

Holy Mother Mary, Mediatrix of all graces, obtain for us from God the conversion of the world.

At the end of the chaplet say 3 Glory Be’s in honor of the Blessed Trinity and then say one Hail Holy Queen.

I really love this one. When I have time to say it I can really feel the power of it. To me, it ties in with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

They do make actual beads for this Chaplet but they say you can also use your rosary.
