You know, I’ll listen to Rush or Hannity or whomever on the right wing and they talk about how the left thinks. The left wants this and the left wants that. And almost none of it is true. Then they listen to the talking points spewed out by these hosts and their callers (by the way, the callers NEVER challenge those points) and they think they understand the arguments that the left will make (they don’t - it’s a fictional left that wouldn’t make those arguments) and that the points made by the callers and hosts make perfect sense because they don’t get those views challenged.

Then they come here and find out that those points can be challenged (and sadly, usually don’t even make sense) and then they get upset and stop arguing their points and go on about lunch meat.

Very little time spent on actual ideas.

So now we are at the stage where some - those totally addicted to that adrenalin-surge inducing rhetoric, - justify their insouciant attitude about the Russian interference in the last election by opining that they have more trust in Russia oligarchs directing this nation than the Democratic party

I am not entirely sure that democracy can withstand the internet.

Well, we’ve had posters here say they wouldn’t trust a Democrat to pet-sit their dog. But the Russians are cool.

I have doubts too. There is a large portion of the population that now thinks they are well informed on issues but have been fed a bunch of lies and are content to continue to slobber in more instead of challenging the lies.
 
I’m curious as to why you so carefully word your apologetic of Roy Moore. I get that you disapprove, just not very much.

I’m going to remember every overt or tacit approval of Moore. It makes a lie of the moral high ground some pretend to occupy.
 
Jesus Christ is Our Redeemer. Since you are a nonbeliever I don’t expect you would appreciate the impact of this. He is the Divine Physician,he came to heal the sick for the well are not in need of a physician.None of us is completely well.We need redemption.

And yet we are going to take this beautiful teaching and attempt to falsely apply it to someone who sexually assaults 14 year olds and then lies about what happens so that we can have an excuse to vote for him.
 
What word woul you use to describe undressing and fondling a 14 year old?

I understand it perfectly. I also understand that someone who denies the sins they’ve committed is not yet ready for redemption.

Just because I won’t lie about what he did to make it look even worse,
that doesn’t mean I morally approve. I’ve repeatedly said it was wrong.

I prefer to review the facts with integrity.

I’m also not hypocritical. I’ve never suggested Al Franken should resign because of his proclivity to grope. It’s up to the voters to decide if the issue is a current practice and whether to have him as their rep.

That is for criminal conviction.

Not electing him because of his past abuse isn’t a criminal conviction.

Remember OJ wasn’t convicted either of killing his wife. Should he be a senator?

And Bill Clinton wasn’t convicted of perjury (in his Senate trial), but I bet you think he shouldn’t have been President.
 
Would Roy Moore have won the Alabama GOP primary if it was known that he is a sexual predator of teenagers?

If Roy Moore wins, Alabama will have the stench of their decision impacting their state for at least a generation.
 
I think we’ve heard this legal action thing before. Wasn’t it Trump that was going to sue his accusers? Hasn’t happened yet?

Besides, she’s one of nine. Is he suing just this one or all nine? And the police officer that said her job was to keep an eye on him at football games? And the mall employees that said he was banned from the mall? And his colleague that said his reputation of chasing underaged girls was well known?
