Technically, that lone act removes that Theodore Baptist Church’s Tax Exempt Status IMHO.
While I’m not a fan of churches getting in the business of campaigning for candidates, I don’t care for the idea of the government perpetually holding the tax-exempt sword of Damocles ever above the head of Churches and non-profits. Planned Parenthood has no problem endorsing politicians and no one ever talks about taking away their non-profit tax-exempt status.

Planned Parenthood is a 501(c)(3), it would lose its tax-exempt status if it endorsed politicians. Donations to Planned Parenthood are deductible and not used for political activities.

Planned Parenthood Action Fund is a 501(c)(4). It endorses politicians and is subject to more scrutiny and potentially taxes. Donations to Planned Parenthood Action Fund and all other 501(c)(4) organizations are not deductible since they may be used for political activities.

Churches who want to pursue political activities can set up related 501(c)(4) organizations if they want to. In fact there are many religious 501(c)(4)s headed up by pastors or religious leaders. Planned Parenthood is governed by the same rules as churches.

“Muslims follow Sharia, which is unconstitutional.” which was right below “See Article VI of the Constitution. Moore was quite clear that he didn’t care what the Constitution says, he wants to bar Muslims from Congress.” Which was a reply to “Conservatives favor adherence to the original text and meaning of the Constitution…no-where in which is there a “separation of church and state.” Mine was a question and what Moore had said that he does not believe Muslims should serve in Congress.

I disagree that Muslims should not serve in Congress.

I have voted for Muslims many times in my life.

Well just lost all remaining respect for Duck Dynasty:
“Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson advocated for adult men to marry 15- and 16-year-old girls and deemed age 20 too old because “you wait until they get to be 20 years old, the only picking that’s going to take place is your pocket.”

What goes he even mean by “picking”? I understand pocket picking. What else can he mean?

Just like saying Catholic’s could not uphold the oath of office per the Constitution because we answer only to the Pope. That was a thing back in the day. And some folk still believe that.
Yes, I heard about that… Catholics can’t hold office because their religion is showing… Didn’t some nominee get questioned about that by D. Fienstien this week or last week?

Sorry for the mistake.
Glad you fixed that error. It is also a stretch however to say twist the remarks as “Catholics can’t hold office because their religion is showing”.

The actual question was about this individual’s willingness to put the law before personal beliefs. Although this individual had said earlier in the hearing, “It is never appropriate for a judge to apply their personal convictions whether it derives from faith or personal conviction", there were prior remarks in her speeches that gave counter-indications on this point.

The line of questioning was tough, but not unfounded. And it was ceratinly not a religious test.

So glad to hear that!
I read about Ireland many moons ago when Catholics were not allowed to hold public office…

Oops. Turns out the accusers are lying after all:

http://www.tashnews.com/case-solved-key-witness-drops-bomb-roy-moore-save-head/

Summary of article:

Below are the reasons where can see clearly they were lying:

1.) The Olde Hickory House required employees to be at least 16. Beverly Nelson claims she was 15 when she started.

2.) The restaurant’s dumpsters were on the side of the building and not in the back as Nelson claimed.

3.) A former employee says the restaurant NEVER closed at 11:00 PM as Nelson claimed and at midnight on most nights.

4.) Customers at the counter were served by the bartender or cook and not by any waitress.

5.) The witnesses claim they have shared this information with several news outlets but they have refused to report the truth!

And more: Rhonda Ledbetter, employed at the restaurant hesitated to come forward but she said: “As a moral and ethical person,” she had to come forward. She claimed that never remember ANYONE coming in the restaurant in a suit, which means Roy Moore never been at that restaurant.

A published report on Monday clearly shows that these accuses were not telling the truth. Attorney Gloria Allred was lying and so was the national media.

So, should attorney Gloria Allred go to prison for lying.
