Nope, first charged offense is a class A misdemeanor in Moore’s scenario (teen, not a child).

They raise it to a felony if you are a repeat offender before the court, as they should.
Wow. Seriously, that’s a misdemeanor to sexually assault a 14 year old. Alabama’s got some interesting laws.

Part of forgiveness is the wrongdoer admitting they were wrong. Moore not only denies the accusations but essentially asserts the women are liars.

😳 I was thinking just that. He brought her to his home.

She didn’t walk there.

Why did he pick her up around the corner from the house? Why not walk up to the door and ring the bell and say “Mrs. Corfman, I’m here to take your daughter on a date?”

As a mother I cannot see anything wholesome about an adult meeting my daughter around the corner in a car.

As a mother a man in his 30’s coming to take my daughter on a date would have a police call made, at the very least.

So the implication is that she’s a liar, and has made up this story for no reason whatsoever for 40 years.

Do you have a 14 year old? Do you know any? Ask them the name of the DA. Also, ask them where they live.
Yes, I have children. They told some whoppers when they were teens. Having said that, if they accused someone of doing this, I would IMMEDIATELY investigate.

People do lie. Have you ever heard of Tawana Brawely? I have a niece who admitted to lying about being kidnapped when she ran away with her boyfriend. It happens.

There is a young priest in our archdiocese who was accused of sexual abuse of an underage girl after being a priest for only two years. He was suspended for five years while the case was being tried. He won both the civil and the criminal case. SNAP had to apologize to him for slandering him. He finally gets to say mass in public. His accuser lied. I simply don’t think every person who makes accusations should automatically be believed.

You are falsely accusing people who don’t side against Moore as approving of pedophilia and sex abuse.

Per info from below tweet, Beverley Young Nelson is still contending it was Roy Moore that wrote in the yearbook, but she’s now indicating that she wrote the location and date. I haven’t looked at the yearbook in much detail. Does the date and location look the same as the signature in the way that that is written, the signature that is claimed to be Roy Moore’s signature, or does it look different? I’m not accusing her of lying about it being Roy Moore’s signature, I don’t know what the ultimate truth is about the sexual misconduct allegations, but if she wrote in the date and location in the yearbook, and this is only apparently coming out now, that might be a big deal.

Has she ever claimed that Roy Moore wrote the date and location, in addition to the signature?

Yes unlike Jig saw who, apparently is constantly lurking the Forum just waiting to pounce! Most of us go hours and maybe ev n days without posting, his is nonstop. He needs a new hobby!😜
Some people thrive on salacious stories. There is a saint, can’t remember the name, who said people love condemning others for sins which don’t tempt themselves.

You should know by now that every Republican who has ever lived is a godly, virtuous man. Every Democrat who has ever lived is leecherous, greedy and corrupt. 😛

YWhy are YOU so intent in proving that what he did doesn’t matter?

Do you have kids?

Do you have a wife?

What would you tell her if she shared a similar story with you?

O honey it didn’t matter coz 14 wasn’t young, and it was a misdemeanor anyway? And it happened so long ago. You must be lying.
You are projecting, AGAIN.
But then you have an agenda to campaign for.

Nobody has ever said that. In fact, Trent just resigned.

Just gratuitous slander on your part.

Sigh.

The allegations against Moore are credible and serious.

She was 14. He was 32. That was morally wrong.

I miss the old ignore feature.

I’m projecting that what Moore did was morally wrong and predatory towards a girl. You point out I use the word “young” incorrectly.

denial of the basic tenets of religious freedom alone disqualifies him from office, in my opinion, and that is just one of his problems.
It is his interpretation of religious freedoms (following a more of a constitutional originality view) that endears him to many.

Nobody has ever said that
But the mplication is inescapable when lists of offenders are posted that include anyone but republican officials and conservative media types.

And when facts about democrats are completely screwed up in order to whatabout-away anything about republicans.

Serious? Absolutely.

Credible? Yes and no. Multiple accusors, some corroboration, etc. Meanwhile the only physical evidence appears to be fraudulent (yearbook) or easily explained (the thank you or congrats note), the accusations are 40 years old. AND the allegations have been denied.

It’s up to the voters to balance the credibility versus the opponents big government, pro-abortion, leftist positions

A teacher In my high school was fired for being in a storage room with a student with the door closed

I guess he should have dug in his heels, called the girl a liar and ran for Senate .

The meaning of your post is unclear. Does it have to do with your sorrow over a tendetious accusation of slander?

Some people thrive on salacious stories. There is a saint, can’t remember the name, who said people love condemning others for sins which don’t tempt themselves.
Some people like the truth coming out instead of letting a bunch of lies about what happened go without a response. Some people also only seem to show up complaining about the postings when they don’t like the politics of the posters, instead of being consistent. For example, complaining about saying Moore belongs in jail when there have been hundreds of posts about Hillary Clinton belonging in jail. Selective outrage, I’d say.

A pastor at a parish I knew was accused of abuse in the seventies. He was removed.

I guess he should have dug in his heels, and stayed.
