Our pastor tells us the right knee, right knee signifies genuflection in adoration.

Agreed we kneel on the right knee if possible out of custom. But there is no rule about how to get up from kneeling on both knees, which is what you posted . And if it’s not possible to kneel on the right knee but only on the left for whatever reason, it doesn’t matter - it doesn’t take away any adoration. Adoration is in the heart. Our pastor tells us the right knee, right knee signifies genuflection in adoration.
When we get older, the body often gets cranky. And it likes to be cranky in the knees. For some, it may be physically impossible to kneel, even on one knee. Jesus knows that. He doesn’t expect the impossible, and neither should we.Camehome4john6:![]()
Sometimes it’s all I can do to half genuflect let alone kneel for long periods or go down on both knees. I sure hope people aren’t judging me for it.AlruwhAlquds:![]()
If I had to get down on both knees adoration would be very much disturbed when people would have to try to get me back up.Bow on both knees, get on your right knee then your left (right knee first).
But that’s just it, you see. You went beyond giving an answer which reflects what the church actually teaches, that is to say a genuflection on one knee, and presented your own opinion as to what is fitting (going down on both knees, getting up with right knee first, bowing etc.) which is not what the church requires, while not pointing out that it is just your opinion.I was just answering Jan’s question. If you can’t then, yes Jesus knows where we are at and knows our intentions. No judgement on any who can’t. If you can do it.
