The West is not more secular than the east.Well considering that we in the West have a different world view from those in the East. The west is pretty much secular, and we tend to view the world from that perspective, including those who are religious.
I havenât read that latest article, so I wonât agree or disagree with what you said about it. I just want to point out that there are already 2 threads on the subject, so I think we could just continue posting on them without starting any more. They are:telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/russia/9483822/*****-riot-jailed-Vladimir-Putin-faces-international-outcry.html
What a joke!!. A sacred place was used as a place for mockery and the West outcrys!. If this were secular institute, the reverse would happen. Now is the time for traditional Catholics to pray for Russia. The government did the right thing, and itâs an outcry to the secular atheistic West!.
Russia outlawed gay pride parades for the next 100 years. rt.com/politics/moscow-city-court-gay-247/If âgay prideâ is sent in chains to Siberia (whatever the heck that even means), I hope you and your instruments wonât be far behind, ladies.
Yeah, but that doesnât mean gays will be sent to Siberia or whatever. Thatâs just silly. Being told you canât have a parade does not equate to being sent to a gulag.Russia outlawed gay pride parades for the next 100 years. rt.com/politics/moscow-city-court-gay-247/

It was two years. If you read what most people have said, I think you will find that few agree with the length of the sentence. It was not the Eucharist that was desecrated, it was the Sanctuary. That is illegal. Churches are not public forums for immoral speech and behavior. Police do have the right to arrest and punish for breech of the public order.I canât believe all of the support that I see here for the stupid Putin/Russian (KGB) commie government that sentences people to 7 years in prison for a little stunt like this.
I thought this was a forum mostly of Catholic Christians. Those girls didnât harm anyone. Whereâs the forgiveness?
They compared our Lord and Savior Christ to fecal matter. âSo what?âDid these silly girls destroy any Church property or desecrate the Eucharist or something? NOPE!
They ran up and did a little dance and said some bad stuff. Big deal. So what?!?
Russia is not the USA.They should be given a little community service at the Church for causing that disturbance.

Russian Orthodox Church forgives Russian bandI thought this was a forum mostly of Catholic Christians. Those girls didnât harm anyone. Whereâs the forgiveness?
âWe are simply praying and hoping that these young women and all these people shouting in front of the court building, committing sacrilegious acts not only in Russia but in other countries, realize that their acts are awful,â he (Archpriest Maxim Kozlov) said. âAnd despite this the church is asking for mercy within the limits of law.â
Yes, seriously. Heaven forbid someone take Christianity and our holy places seriously, even in big, bad, scary Russia.PRISON?? SERIOUSLY?? :frighten:
As I said; They created a disturbance, so give them community service. No property was damaged and nobody was harmed. Silly girls doing a song and dance. So what. Give them community service at the Church and show them kindness there and theyâll probably fall in love with it.It was two years. Ahh, so dragging these girls behind cars and then throwing whatâs left of them into prison for eternity is Catholic moral teaching? Mmkay pnewton. Thatâs probably the harshest example, but Iâve seen several examples in this thread of people posting âcontrary to Catholic moral teachingâ, to say the least.Since this is in fact a Catholic Christian forum, it is not appropriate to question others Christianity when no one has posted contrary to Catholic moral teaching.
Perhaps you should refrain not only from your judgementalism, but also your attempt to rephrase what other people actual think. You did a terrible job in rephrasing both my position and the actual facts of the case. When one makes up a new position by exaggeration and lies that is obviously wrong, it is called a strawman argument. But instead of mercy and love and forgiveness you rather defend the actions of this tyrannical Putin government which throws these girls into a Russian prison for years. That is Christian? Really?
Ahh, so dragging these girls behind cars and then throwing whatâs left of them into prison for eternity is Catholic moral teaching? Mmkay pnewton.
And then I merely pointed out that OTHERS had indeed âposted contrary to Catholic moral teachingâ on this matter. As in the case of the fellow who said that these girls should be dragged behind a car.Since this is in fact a Catholic Christian forum, it is not appropriate to question others Christianity when NO ONE has posted contrary to Catholic moral teaching.
Again, you need to point out where I said that you claimed such a thing. You cannot, however, since surely I did no such thing. I only demonstrated that others had indeed made posts which go âcontrary to Catholic teachingâ.But for the record, just in case you really have a difficult time understanding others, I do not think dragging girls behind cars ant throwing them into prison for eternity is Catholic moral teaching. Fortunately for me, I never said it was.
Anymore strawmen I should agree to?
