200,000 were in a 2-kilometer-long eucharistic procession along the city’s longest street. They walked accompanying a float in which the eucharist, the body of Christ, was mounted in a four-foot high monstrance, nested in flowers, the people uttering prayers and singing eucharistic hymns as they went. The procession took 3 hours. The float and monstrance holding the eucharist are seen in the top photo.
This report is in the latest issue of the Cebu Daily News, published in the city in the Philippines where the International Eucharistic has been held.
