I am talking about doing something in order to cover up the fact that he is really not taking communion because of mortal sin. A lie by omission is when you fail to mention an important fact by misrepresenting the truth. Eating before mass is indeed a valid reason not to take the Eucharist. Purposely eating in order to make it seem like that is the reason he is not taking communion, when in fact the real reason is he feels he’s committed a mortal sin is a lie by omission.What sin of omission are you talking about?
