Hi - this question is similar, though not identical, to ones asked before.
I am learning to become a Sacristan. And I have been receiving different answers about proper procedures.
Our tabernacle is located apart and is in a higher location, behind the altar. When I pass in front of the altar and thus, the tabernacle, do I bow or do I genuflect in front of the closed tabernacle? Does it matter if I have something in my hands, e.g., a candle lighter, Bible/books, cloths, banners, etc.?
Thanks.
