I don’t know what to think these days. So much corruption in the U.S. senate, our court rooms, our schools not to mention the overall morale of this nation. I also think that Christianity in general is morally corrupt! Sinful pastors committing adultery, molesting innocent children, teaching things that are heretical. Where’s an inquisition when you need one?! Not to mention I see so many Protestants, Jews and Catholics living like pagans. It’s quite frankly an embarrassment. :mad: I cry every night before I go to bed. I can only imagine what the reaction of the Apostles would be if they saw Christianity and the state that it’s in now!!! Shameful. Sometimes I think, “Am I the only one here?” Our society is paganistic, atheistic and materialistic. Just think of the scandal it brings on our brothers and sisters in the Middle East. No wonder they hate us so much.

And we are being threatened by Islamic invasion as well. Churches like those in the Vatican, Vienna, Paris, London and even those here in the U.S. will be turned into mosques before you know it. So many of our pastors have listened to the Devil. Our Lord promised us that the gates of Hell would not prevail against His holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. Pope John Paul II of immortal memory said, that “war is Satan”. By prayer and fasting we can mitigate wars and end wars. We need to pray for the Pope, bishops and priests.

I know you already know this but Our Lord forewarned us that following Him would constitue nothing but trial. He promised that we would indeed be hated for keeping and spreading His word. And He told us the gate is narrow and many will not pass through it.

Do not despair. Remember that He is still in charge, despite the fact that we may not be privy to His grand plan. Every generation thinks it is living in the worst of times. The torment of the faithful during the Arian heresy nearly consumed the Church and yet those that remained loyal were strengthened by God and the Church survived and grew.

You are correct that we must all pray ceaselessly. It is a painful and lonely time for many who choose to walk with Christ but we always have Him and we do still have eachother! God bless and sleep peacefully.

I know just how you feel!So many Christians now a days don’t know Jesus at al!So many people are horrible and narrow minded!God will overcome it someday!
 
In times of crisis, our job is to be better Christians.

Don’t give into despair, but in joyful hope.

Jesus is the light and the way. Place your trust and him and don’t worry about the crisis around you. You be the change you want to see in the world.

I feel the same way Bones.

Society itself is so depraved, both in the spiritual and secular sense. We allow abortion, euthanasia, homosexual rallies, pornography, blasphemy, state atheism, etc. These moral crimes have become so entrenched that most of us don’t even bat an eye. The youth today have little commitment to anything. Sadly it has become fashionable to bash ones own country, with people desecrating the flag and disrespecting their own troops. This revolutionary and evil trend is on the rise.

The church itself is far too liberal. In an effort to appear “centrist”, the Church rushes to condemn things like capital punishment that the liberals also oppose. We published the pathetic document “Nostra Aetate”, which undermines our own faith and gives validity to false religions. Christ did not die on the cross so that we could pervert His teachings for the sake of appeasing unbelievers!

And don’t even get me started on the Islamic peril. Look at how Beautiful the Hagia Sophia of Constantinople once was. Then the Muslims defiled it and turned into into a house of abominations known as the “Blue Mosque”. Though this atrocity occurred hundreds of years ago, I can foresee similar things happening in the near future.

Still, there is always hope. We must be reactionary and not ashamed of it and we must fight the global revolution that threatens our nation and our faith.

I often thank God that he let me be blinded.
I am sure that he let this happen for the good of my soul.
It is a pity that the world has lost all sense of God.
It is a pity….They have no reason to live anymore.
When you abolish the thought of God, why should you go on living on this earth?
One must always part from the principle that God is infinitely good, and that all his actions are in our best interest.
Because of this, a Christian should always be happy, never unhappy.
Because everything that happens is God’s will.
And it only happens for the well-being of our soul.

My teacher was born and lived in Jordan. She taught elementary school over there. She said they have students touch and view items such as rosaries, or view “western” commercials/tv, then they put their heads on their desk, close their eyes and the students are asked to raise their hands if they recognize the items or the tv. When asked what happened next, she didn’t go into details, but said, “it’s the reason my mother lost her life to get me over to America.”

Another story, when I had to interview an Chinese ESL student for part of my thesis paper, she relayed to me the story of how her biological mother hid in the countryside to avoid a forced abortion, and then how her relatives took her as their child when she was born. Her extended family continued to present her as their child until she illegally immigrated to America due to religious persecution.

America is depressing at times, but still has much to appreciate. 😦

All religions intersect in some way or another. We are all connected in many ways, in the end. Look at al the similarities between us! It is only expected that Christian religions have mnay pagan roots, as when Christianity came about most everyone was pagan. We are all connected.

I have never got why materialistic was bad. Why are physical luxuries bad? I think we should enjoy them and appreciate them. But I do see what you mean here…some people think that money and how much you have is everything.

Funny how war is Satan…Doesn’t this prove that the pope is quite fallible? For it was he who declared the Crusades, and by saying war=Satan, that means he did the work of satan.

Anyways, do not grieve. There is always a silver lining. Enjoy life!

Indeed, we are all responsible for Christs death as we are all sinners. Direct responsibility can be given to the Roman/Hebrew authorities, but we are all to blame in the end. I never said otherwise so I’m not sure why I’m being accused:shrug:

I criticize Nostra Aetate because it gives validity to various false religions, including paganism, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, etc. I may be incorrect, but isn’t Nostra Aetate the Vatican II document covering all non-Christian religions?

Vatican II was indeed a valid council, but its fruits have not been good as we can all see. Whether they are the result of poor implementation or coincedence or otherwise I know not.

No it doesn’t give validity to other religions so much as it teaches how we are to treat those who belong to other religions.

The Old days of scorning those who are not Catholic, should never return.

It babbles about modernist things like “mutual understanding” and suggests salvation is part of the plan for Judaism and Islam. It takes emphasis off of conversion.

Islam, Judaism, paganism, etc. are all false religions, I’d rather not hold “mutual understanding” sessions with them!
