I wonder how they get around the “apostolic” part as well…?Lutherans often include a footnote explaining the use of the word ‘Catholic’ in the creed.![]()

His “conversion” is questionable…His use of profanity was in response to the cruelty of the guards. I think we can all say that we have responded to people in a mean spirit before…As for his conversion, only God knows his heart (either way, it doesn’t mean he’s in Heaven…).I used the curcing at the gallows as an example of why Saddam’s supposed conversion could be called into question. I just see it as a contridiction of his newly found religious devotion.
We can try him in absentiaI don’t think he murdered millions of mulsims. maybe 100s of thousands. Do you think he should be punished for his cursing? It may be a little late for that.
If they accept as valid a conversion done at the end of a gun,* then they’d have to consider Saddam as a real MoslemMy question was with respect to how Muslims view Saddam’s conversion. Do they accept him as being a real Muslim?
My understanding was that he was always MoslemSaddam’s seemingly brief conversion to Islam before his death? .
Saddam Hussein was not hanged…he was lynched and for that we are ALL guiltythe last word that came from his mouth before he was hanged
Satan is the master of confusion. It’s the same logic at work when a girl is raped and is then killed by her own family in order to preserve the *honour *of the villageObviously, if someone is forced into something they can’t be thought of as sincere. If I put a gun to a girl’s head and said, “Say I’m a good looking guy, or you’re dead.”, it would be invalid if she said it since it wasn’t a freely made choice.
Why don’t Muslims see that?
In Islam there is no “free will”, hence the name of the religion, SUBMISSION. Muslims believe erroneously that there is “no compulsion in religion” so they can have a right to murder those who “apostasize”, even if they weren’t sincere in their “conversion”.Obviously, if someone is forced into something they can’t be thought of as sincere. If I put a gun to a girl’s head and said, “Say I’m a good looking guy, or you’re dead.”, it would be invalid if she said it since it wasn’t a freely made choice.

I ask you kindly not to throw stones, else you may break our windows.Naw, most of the Muslims I’ve met break their own rules all the time.
I ask you kindly not to throw stones, else you may break our windows, only I am a bit anxious as we do have rather a lot of windows!!!Naw, most of the Muslims I’ve met break their own rules all the time.
