I could consult Luther’s Small Catechism for you and see what it says.

After glancing through the index, this is the closest thing to an answer I could find in Luther’s Small Catechism:

I used the curcing at the gallows as an example of why Saddam’s supposed conversion could be called into question. I just see it as a contridiction of his newly found religious devotion.
His “conversion” is questionable…His use of profanity was in response to the cruelty of the guards. I think we can all say that we have responded to people in a mean spirit before…As for his conversion, only God knows his heart (either way, it doesn’t mean he’s in Heaven…).

Prayers and petitions,

Hello,

If a man says the testemony of faith there is no reason for me to consider him not a muslim.

He can be a horrible bad muslim though. He will be judged and probably punished severely for his bad deeds in the after life.

There are probably 3 aspects to your question.

''Do muslim accept any ones conversion to Islam even if he was a horrible man ? ‘’

Yes .

''Do muslims believe he is sincere in his conversion ? ‘’

We dont know , its up to God to deicde.

‘‘what do muslims think of his fate in the after life ?’’

a bad muslim will be punished in the afterlife.

Thanks for your question

I don’t think he murdered millions of mulsims. maybe 100s of thousands. Do you think he should be punished for his cursing? It may be a little late for that.
We can try him in absentia 😛

My question was with respect to how Muslims view Saddam’s conversion. Do they accept him as being a real Muslim?
If they accept as valid a conversion done at the end of a gun,* then they’d have to consider Saddam as a real Moslem

*-which they do, as various hostages have been considered to have converted

Obviously, if someone is forced into something they can’t be thought of as sincere. If I put a gun to a girl’s head and said, “Say I’m a good looking guy, or you’re dead.”, it would be invalid if she said it since it wasn’t a freely made choice.

Why don’t Muslims see that?

Saddam’s seemingly brief conversion to Islam before his death? .
My understanding was that he was always Moslem
the last word that came from his mouth before he was hanged
Saddam Hussein was not hanged…he was lynched and for that we are ALL guilty

Satan is the master of confusion. It’s the same logic at work when a girl is raped and is then killed by her own family in order to preserve the *honour *of the village

In Islam there is no “free will”, hence the name of the religion, SUBMISSION. Muslims believe erroneously that there is “no compulsion in religion” so they can have a right to murder those who “apostasize”, even if they weren’t sincere in their “conversion”.

Sadam was in the eyes of Muslims a Nominal Muslim who was a very bad one. Thus he is considered a muslim although he will be punished severly for his atrocities .

The saying of the testemony of faith at the time of death is not a conversion statement , its a last affirmation of faith. However it is of little help to fend of the punishment for insjtices against others .

That is how we regard him, I hope that clarifies teh confusion

Naw, most of the Muslims I’ve met break their own rules all the time.
I ask you kindly not to throw stones, else you may break our windows.

I may not believe in Islam but I will defend my Moslem brothers and sisters right to believe it, free from unqualified statements such as that quoted above

All I know is that Osama and he were arch enemies…although Osama is an extremist!
