A must read article on the topic: crisismagazine.com/2015/saint-nero-patron-of-gay-marriage.
I totally agree.I have hypothesized how, as Nero is the beast in Revelation referred to by 666, if support of same-sex marriage, gay rights, rainbow flag, etc is the contemporary mark of the beast? It is incredibly divisive and is contributing in a large way to the current apostasy.
When they start arresting people of faith for objecting to the gay agenda, which is being forced down their throats, you and others who have blinders on will see we were right to be so concerned. We aren’t immune from persecution merely because we live in the 21st century. I’m sure other people in other centuries told themselves the same thing–such as Europe while the Nazis took over Germany. It can happen if we don’t stand up against being forced to accept that which goes against our most basic teachings regarding the family and human relations. We won’t “get over it” for we know that we will be forced to violate our consciences by our government in the name of equality–which is not equality but coersion.Articles like this convince me more and more that certain people in the Church just LOVE finding (making up) an enemy to point their fingers at.
Nero. Patron of Gay Marriage. Give me a break.
Gay folks can marry now. Get over it.
Who will being doing the arresting? The persecuting? Maybe they are anti-Christs – not people who merely support gay marriage or are gay. When they start arresting people of faith for objecting to the gay agenda, which is being forced down their throats, you and others who have blinders on will see we were right to be so concerned. Oh how I wish you are right about that. I don’t relish being persecuted, perhaps going to jail or worse. Many people live in a nice bubble of denial that such things can’t happen–it’s what makes persecution possible:Who will being doing the arresting? The persecuting? Sigh.Who will being doing the arresting? The persecuting? Maybe they are anti-Christs – not people who merely support gay marriage or are gay.
Just because the Faith isn’t popular anymore does not mean it is being persecuted.
How pathetic to compare us in the US being persecuted with those Christians in the early Roman Empire.
Once again, sometimes bad things may happen to people who believe traditional notions of marriage. But it unjust to make it seem as if it is gay persons’ fault or even those who wish gay people have the right to marry.Oh how I wish you are right about that. I don’t think you understand what’s happening. It’s not gay people who will do these things–it’s those who will use their “cause” to do them. The family has been broken down and is in grave danger of being destroyed, and this is just another way to do it. It has nothing to do with equal rights. It’s a power grab. Wake up and smell the coffee.Once again, sometimes bad things may happen to people who believe traditional notions of marriage. And how many businesses are being shut down? And why?Sigh.
So tell all that to the Christian businesses being SHUT DOWN. Tell them there is no persecution.
So you wish to compare this to the persecution endured by the Early Church in Rome? By those who had their heads chopped off, who were fed to animals, and who were forced underground?Tell that to journalists being fined for “hate speech”. Tell that to churches being sued.
Or maybe some people on here are just paranoid and holding up “The End is Near” signs.Geez, your still in denial.
Tendency means I am bent towards a certain way. I think Catholic in much of my Christian understanding. Not all. This is one of the issues I am not very traditionally-Catholic in.Odd that your religion says “Catholic tendency”…hah…I think “Uncatholic tendency”.
Ask Abraham. Or David. Or Jacob. Or Paul. They may as well all give different answers. As for whether gays can marry, what IS marriage? If it is just two people living together for financial benefits(wheres the “love” in that?) then sure they can. If it is a sacrament, well, they cant.
So the family will be destroyed because…I don’t think you understand what’s happening. It’s not gay people who will do these things–it’s those who will use their “cause” to do them. Wooowww…Once again, sometimes bad things may happen to people who believe traditional notions of marriage. But it unjust to make it seem as if it is gay persons’ fault or even those who wish gay people have the right to marry.
So you’re going to blame an individual’s business for shutting down or for a person being sued on all gay people? Or gay people want gay persons to have the right to marry?Wooowww…
Did I really just read that?
Huh…maybe I ought to be more paranoid than I am now…
