Someone said he fiddled while Rome burned, but I heard it from a lyre.
All of which, I suppose, would make him an ideal icon for the supremacy of human desires over any moral code–a principle that is once again quite popular, and which the U.S. Supreme Court seems lately to have adopted as a working model.Nero is not only famous for his SSM:
“[A]ccording to historical accounts, [Nero] ordered his first wife, Octavia, killed; kicked his second wife, Poppaea, to death when she was pregnant; saw to the murder of his mother, Agrippina the Younger (possibly after sleeping with her); perhaps also murdered his stepbrother, Britannicus; instructed his mentor Seneca to commit suicide (which he solemnly did); castrated and then married a teenage boy; presided over the wholesale
arson of Rome in A.D. 64 and then shifted the blame to a host of Christians (including Saints Peter and Paul), who were rounded up and beheaded or crucified and set aflame so as to illuminate an imperial festival.”

According to God’s will and design.According to your doctrine.
Another box checked off on their agenda…I don’t think you understand what’s happening. It’s not gay people who will do these things–it’s those who will use their “cause” to do them. The family has been broken down and is in grave danger of being destroyed, and this is just another way to do it. It has nothing to do with equal rights. It’s a power grab. Wake up and smell the coffee.
I would blame it on the militant gay activists who want everyone to bend to their beliefs and will plow you over if you don’t. Watch how school curricula is going to change due to the same forces. Watch churches lose their tax exemption. So you’re going to blame an individual’s business for shutting down or for a person being sued on all gay people? Or gay people want gay persons to have the right to marry?
But it so rarely happens…or if it does, it tends to be an open marriage. This is self-admitted by gay people themselves. Is it common sense for a gay person to want to fall in love with and spend his life with a person of the same sex?
I think so.
TouchéSomeone said he fiddled while Rome burned, but I heard it from a lyre.
No. It’s not common sense for a gay person to want to fall in love with and spend his life with a person of the same sex.Is it common sense for a gay person to want to fall in love with and spend his life with a person of the same sex?
I think so.
In my opinion, tt would certainly be unnatural for a straight man to fall in love with and want to spend his life with another man just like it would also be unnatural for a gay man to fall in love with and want to spend his life with a woman. But it would be natural for a gay man to fall in love with another man and natural for a straight man to fall in love with a woman.No. It’s not common sense for a gay person to want to fall in love with and spend his life with a person of the same sex.
It is simply unnatural.
Nonsense! That marriage is between male and female and defined with particular characteristics if most definitely a religious claim.
That is an interesting concept. But I don;t think that happens. Do you know of any particular instances where that occurs? It would certainly be unnatural for a straight man to fall in love with and want to spend his life with another man just like it would also be unnatural for a gay man to fall in love with and want to spend his life with a woman.![]()
Wow! Reading the article at the link almost made me puke. I guess it could literally be called the ugly truth.A must read article on the topic: crisismagazine.com/2015/saint-nero-patron-of-gay-marriage.
Yes, it’s definitely disturbing. A girm picture of our future if we don’t stand against this power grab by the social elites.Wow! Reading the article at the link almost made me puke. I guess it could literally be called the ugly truth.
Well actually they can’t get married.Articles like this convince me more and more that certain people in the Church just LOVE finding (making up) an enemy to point their fingers at.
Nero. Patron of Gay Marriage. Give me a break.
Gay folks can marry now. Get over it.
Seriously some of the folks are living in the middle ages…it would not surprise me if some still believed that the Church was against evolution.Articles like this convince me more and more that certain people in the Church just LOVE finding (making up) an enemy to point their fingers at.

A false dilemma. How cute. This thread is a perfect demonstration of lack of charity that too many Catholics have. Please go do some actual good works instead of condemning people all of time!
Yes, somewhere back a few pages in this thread I stated that this whole thing is a power grab. I’m glad to see someone else recognizes this, as well. :tiphat: You must have read Chesterton. All I have to say…
If it ever comes to a point where people are thrown in prison because they disagree with same-sex marriage, believers will be sharing cells with anarchists, militant animal rights activists, and anti-globalists from all over the political spectrum.
My main issue with this entire debate is I feel that people don’t see the forest for the trees. They fear the destruction of the family but never seem to realize the industrial revolution killed the family long before gays were accepted.
When families broken down for an extended community of people to a man, woman, and their 2.5 children that family was dead. The fact that the state now recognizes two men or two women just means they can start controlling more folks.
