All of which, I suppose, would make him an ideal icon for the supremacy of human desires over any moral code–a principle that is once again quite popular, and which the U.S. Supreme Court seems lately to have adopted as a working model.

I would blame it on the militant gay activists who want everyone to bend to their beliefs and will plow you over if you don’t. Watch how school curricula is going to change due to the same forces. Watch churches lose their tax exemption.

In my opinion, tt would certainly be unnatural for a straight man to fall in love with and want to spend his life with another man just like it would also be unnatural for a gay man to fall in love with and want to spend his life with a woman. But it would be natural for a gay man to fall in love with another man and natural for a straight man to fall in love with a woman. 🤷

Nonsense!

Marriage existed long before organized religion began. It also existed long before mankind decided they needed a government.

Since marriage preceded religion and government, neither has the authority to re-define it.

The Supreme court can say that an apple is an orange and if we don’t call an apple an orange we can be punished…but that does not change the biological nature of the fruit. (no pun intended)

That is an interesting concept. But I don;t think that happens. Do you know of any particular instances where that occurs?

I think that if a man wanted to spend his life with another man…the first man would be gay as would his partner.

It would be more natural for a gay man to renounce his homosexuality when he falls in love with a woman…and they spend their lives being happy ever after.

Seriously some of the folks are living in the middle ages…it would not surprise me if some still believed that the Church was against evolution.
 
They can also have Tiberius and Caligula for their “saints,” since both were recognized as sodomites.
 
This thread is a perfect demonstration of lack of charity that too many Catholics have. Please go do some actual good works instead of condemning people all of time!

All I have to say…

If it ever comes to a point where people are thrown in prison because they disagree with same-sex marriage, believers will be sharing cells with anarchists, militant animal rights activists, and anti-globalists from all over the political spectrum.

My main issue with this entire debate is I feel that people don’t see the forest for the trees. They fear the destruction of the family but never seem to realize the industrial revolution killed the family long before gays were accepted.

When families broken down for an extended community of people to a man, woman, and their 2.5 children that family was dead. The fact that the state now recognizes two men or two women just means they can start controlling more folks.

Yes, somewhere back a few pages in this thread I stated that this whole thing is a power grab. I’m glad to see someone else recognizes this, as well. :tiphat: You must have read Chesterton. 😉
