Dear Friends,
We have reported over time regarding the Public Veneration of the relics of Saint Padre Pio which began ensuant to the exhumation of his mortal remains in March of this year.
Further reports are as follows:
Angelo Cardinal Sodano, the Vatican Secretary of State,
officiated on 10 August at a concelebration of the Holy Eucharist at the Church of San Pio in San Giovanni Rotondo in honor of the 98th anniversary of Padre Pio.
A papal visit to the new reliquary is anticipated at some time.
Due to the volume of international pilgrims who desire to view the relics, the Public Veneration has been extended beyond the Anniversary of Saint Pio’s death in September.
Pilgrimages from the United States are organized by the National Center for Padre Pio - www.padrepio.org.
