Come Holy Spirit, Come! Happy Pentecost Sunday!!!
Sharing this reflection from today’s Euchalette, on the Solemnity of Pentecost:

"ONE AND HOLY IN THE SPIRIT"

"We live in a world torn by conflicting interests, jealousy, aggressiveness, and so many forms of enslavement. All this is the consequence of SIN. Left to ourselves, we would have been unable to overcome such destructive forces. That is why God promised and sent the Holy Spirit, as the divine healing Power that can undo the tragedies of division, mistrust, hatred, and death brought about by human sinfulness.

As we commemorate the Solemnity of Pentecost, let us open our hearts to the Holy Spirit so that He may fashion us to the likeness of Jesus and into a community characterized by mutual acceptance, appreciation, solidarity, and love." (p.1.)

June 11 - Saint Barnabas, Apostle (Memorial):

Collect (Opening Prayer):
“O God, who decreed that Saint Barnabas,
a man filled with faith and the Holy Spirit,
should be set apart to convert the nations,
grant that the Gospel of Christ,
which he strenuously preached,
may be faithfully proclaimed by word and by deed.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.”

Today’s Scripture readings and reflection:
ymlp232.net/archive_gbmbuqgjgu.php

“St. Barnabas was a Jew from Cyprus, but the Holy Spirit destined Barnabas to a universal mission. He introduced St. Paul to the other apostles, paving the way for his broad apostolate, which required the approval of the Pillars of trhe Church. He accompanied St. Paul on his first missionary journey and at the Council of Jerusalem. Having converted many souls to Christ, St. Barnabas died in Cyprus during Nero’s reign; tradition has it that he was stoned to death. His name is included in the Roman Canon (Eucharistic Prayer 1).” (Daily Roman Missal, MTF).
