Saints Visiting Hell

I think alot of people tend to forget Hell was initially created for Satan and the other fallen angels, it is THEIR place of torment and punishment, It seems alot of people think they are the ‘wardens’ of hell and rule the place…Id like to know where this belief came from and where people got this idea?

Just a few thoughts, and a few questions for clarification

Let’s not forget we wouldn’t know ANYTHING about hell, or how it works and what it’s like, and that it is for humans as well, if it wasn’t for revelation from God…agreed?

One could ask, why else did Jesus spend so much time warning **us **of hell

• if we can’t go to hell ourselves, because hell is only for Satan and his minions

ALL the angels were tested first. Their test is over. They’ve been judged. Good and bad angels were separated. Bottom line, that sentence is done and won’t be reversed.

Now comes us. We (humanity) are going through our test . When our test is done, we likewise will be judged and separated from each other… and that separation for us will be permanent as well, because that sentence won’t be reversed Matthew 25:31-46

Id say Satan and the fallen angels are probably in much worse torment than a human soul could be in, while in hell,

I used to think hell is hell. Then I came to understand there are levels of hell, going from horrible to even worse than horrible if that is even possible to describe with words.

but then again, it does seem Satan and other demons have the ability to come and go from hell, so that doesn’t really make sense either.

Haven’t we been shown already that God gave Satan and his minions temporary ability to do the damage they can do NOW, in the time they have to do it?

What is it you’re really asking? And who is “they” you refer to as the wardens? Are you talking about

• Satan and his minions are the wardens?
• or posters who write about people going to hell, do THEY think they are wardens
• or do examples of private revelations, do THEY think they are wardens?
• what is it you’re referring to?

Or

• Are you saying hell is only for Satan and his minions not meant for us? Look at the Gospel passages above. Jesus can’t scare us needlessly. That would be dishonest of Him. Jesus can’t be dishonest
• Or maybe you’re questioning the right of the Church to warn, to teach, and to instruct about hell

As an aside this is worth noting

• Obey your leaders and submit to them; for they are keeping watch over your souls, as men who will have to give account. Let them do this joyfully, and not sadly, for that would be of no advantage to you Hebrews 13:17
• But we beseech you, brethren, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13

What is it you’re really asking? And who is “they” you refer to as the wardens? Are you talking about

• Satan and his minions are the wardens?
• or posters who write about people going to hell, do THEY think they are wardens

I do not believe in the private revelations of souls in hell, as the catechism teaches us we do NOT have to believe in private revelations, and it also teaches us, that as far as we know NO ONE is in hell at this time.

I don’t think that you will find that in the Catechism.

Because demons hate US, and it is their plan not God’s plan to pull as many of us as they can, to hell with them.

Remember the quote above? Satan demanded to be able to sift Peter. Which means God allowed Satan to sift Peter. He is allowed to sift EVERYONE… like wheat. Remember the quote in context? Jesus said Satan was the one in the first place, who got the apostles in the argument over who was the greatest among THEM.

demons hate US, and it is their plan not God’s plan to pull as many of us as they can, to hell with them while they can.

Why else would we need a savior? Savior from WHAT?

Jesus said, Satan demanded to sift Peter. Which means God allowed Satan to sift Peter. Satan is allowed to sift EVERYONE as well… like wheat. Jesus in that quote, said Satan was the one who in the first place, got the apostles into the argument over who was the greatest among THEM. That’s what Satan does.

Remember in Romans, when Paul warns against people who cause division in the Church, or divide from the Church?

• He said division is evil, don’t do it, and watch out and avoid those who do it
• He said such people don’t serve Our Lord Jesus Christ but Satan.

Rm 16:17 I appeal to you, brethren, to take note of those who create dissensions and difficulties, in opposition to the doctrine which you have been taught; avoid them. **18 For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, buttheir own appetites,**(“Rom 16 RSVCE - Personal Greetings - I commend to you - Bible Gateway”)] and by fair and flattering words they deceive the hearts of the simple-minded. 19 For while your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you,* I would have you* wise as to what is good and guileless as to what is evil; 20 then the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.

Satan is behind all the evil. And we have to resist him

Remember, Jesus didn’t protect Peter from being sifted nor the apostles… He prayed that Peter’s faith would not fail so he could turn and strengthen the apostles .
