Hello fellow members of the Catholic forums,

I am here to talk about a few things regarding our daily progress in God’s grace, may He preserve us, and may we WANT it.

I have been banned, I think, four times from this forums as a result of irresponsibility. Hopefully this admittance doesn’t get me banned again. I came back through necessity, if any are familiar with my post regarding me having an abysmal life and potentially being demon possessed. I really needed guidance, and came back out of desperation and necessity. I originally joined this forums, I think, in 2012 or '13, where I was interested in what to do in my daily life. People suggested working out at a gym, or getting a daily job–such as it was.

I read recently from Padre Pio that our first order of charity is to be toward ourselves. I use this as a sort of rebuttal against what I have been sometimes told by other Catholics (not on this forums): that it is folly not to focus on praying for others, in regard for yourself. In this case, I may understand, but recently, I converted, and focused most all of my prayers toward myself. As I think this helped me to stay on track, and definitely to stop committing certain egregious sins, I may recommend the same. As all that is said, I still recommend attending to other people–as for instance, my brother who is going to be confirmed soon, and is converting from Protestantism, which I sent some advice to regarding his first confession. I will continue to work with him on the means of preserving his soul, because I have been given the grace and made the effort to make myself as culpable as reasonably possible for my tender age of 24, even regardless of my past evil.

Basically, as Padre Pio said once, sin enters into our souls by the will alone, and that without action of the will in certain matters, what remains is our human weakness. Suffice it to say, our emotions are fickle, and ride with the ways of time and various actions, but we can only really be certain of our will. If we work to control our emotions aside from just our will, we will be scrupulous, perplexed, and confused. Our emotions will follow our will, even when they become a little hard to withstand.

Bear in mind, I have a lot of studying to do, especially of Aquinas, but so far, this has been the result of my spiritual journey of only a few days of true effort.

WELCOME BACK!!!
I myself don’t have it altogether spiritually,but
everytime I fall I GET BACK UP, b/c God won’t
give up on you, however far gone you are from
Him. The “hounds of Heaven” always gets
their pray(pun intended).

You cannot struggle toward God if you are in an actual state of possession. The demon would not allow it. Rather, you should search for another, natural cause and address that through Priest, spiritual director or even potentially a medical doctor.

To note, I was not demon possessed. I only thought that I might have been, which is why the original topic was labeled so. Anyway, I am not demon possessed now.

Welcome back! :):D:thumbsup::yup::bounce:

Praying for you that this time things will go better for you, that you will find any answers you need and live in joy and peace.

Glad to hear that.

My advice is to pray to God to help you strengthen your faith, go to Church as often as possible, and receive the sacraments of Confession and Communion as much as possible.
