Shoot I was expecting Nick to answer my questions. But who was I kidding? 😃
Well, he didn’t have any good answers for it, but I did not find his answers insulting as I have many other posters. Frustrating, yes, but I am surprised.🤷

Can you answer this? If you were a believer in Christ and then turned your back on him and totally rejected him would you loose your salvation? I heard (once saved always saved) If you reject Christ is that not the unpardonable sin?
Thanks kaja65

Kaja,

Start a different thread with this same question, people probably won’t check this one too much anymore.

The Catholic Church teaches that salvation can only be found in Jesus because ā€œā€¦there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.ā€ Acts 4:12

However, Catholics conceive of salvation as a process that continues throughout life, so it is not really ā€œlosingā€ since it has not yet been attained until the last day. So long as we are on earth, the possibility remains that we can reject the Lord.

"Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect; but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brethren, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let those of us who are mature be thus minded; and if in anything you are otherwise minded, God will reveal that also to you. 16 Only let us hold true to what we have attained. " Phil 3:12-16

Even if is not her ā€œfaultā€ she is still responsible for her condition. It is the same with anyone who has an addiction, diabetes, or any other serious chronic health condition. They may be influenced by genetics, environment, and bad health behaviors. Maybe they did not set out to have a problem but now that they have it, they are responsibile for addressing it. They need to take corrective action. An addict can choose not to put drugs in the body. A diabetic can manage their diet and take their insulin. A person with a heart disease can exercise and get their checkups.

To translate to the spiritual realm, a person may not be responsible for the mess they are in, but they can certainly take responsibility for getting out of it. A person who was brought up in a spiritually negative environment can become educated, and throw oneself on the mercy of God. One does not have to continue in sin.
Hi am jumping in late, but just reading the postings. A discussion: You say ā€œwhoeverā€ may not be responsible for the mess s/he is IN but certainly responsible for getting OUT. I agree people may find themselves in situations that in some way or another seems they were ā€œforcedā€, or were sucked into them. Accidents/genes do happen that may make it more difficult to make the best choice for oneself, but my take on this is that we all have choices. Indeed we cannot forsee the future and it many times is difficult to make a right choice. If a choice, or choices results in a ā€œmessā€ then we are responsible for getting into it as well as out of it. I do think, however, responsiblity has levels. But we can blame no one else, or nothing else because of the messes we find ourselves in. I think this is one of the problems with today’s society here in the US. We point fingers in all different directions, thinking everyone is at fault but us. We must take responsibility for what we choose whether that results in good or bad for us…We can bemoan, wish it hadn’t happened, say ā€œIf only s/he had, hadn’tā€¦ā€. What we need to say is if only ā€œIā€ had, hadn’t… Try to rectify the situation, if at all possible, pick ourselves up and try to go on.šŸ™‚ Peace.
