More bad news:
If the law is ratified by President Anibal Cavaco Silva, it could come into effect in April - just a month before a visit to Portugal by Pope Benedict XVI, a staunch opponent of gay marriage.
The ratification would make Portugal the sixth country in Europe to allow same-sex marriages after Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Norway.

Unbelievable. In PORTUGAL?? Of all places! This really surprises me.

I thought Our Lady of Fatima said to the seers, “In Portugal, the Faith will always be…”, didn’t She say that? Maybe the law won’t be ratified, please God, otherwise, the end must*** really*** be near! (or at least the chastisement/three days darkness)
With all the evil increasing so rapidly, turning the world upside down and backward, all I can pray is, “BRING IT!” (the Great Purification, that is)
Jesus revealed to St.Faustina, that “…before the Day of My Justice, I am sending My day of Mercy…” haven’t we tempted God with impunity long enough?
** “…Maranatha, Come, Lord Jesus!..”** (the Book of Revelation)

In a way, it`s good news, because things are fast coming to a head.

Have you signed the MANHATTAN DECLARATION?

I don’t really know how Catholic a nation Portugal is.

I saw a travel show on TV about Portugal, and the host of the show (Rick Steves) said all of its Catholic monasteries were dissolved c. 1802 by some Enlightenment king of Portugal whose name I cannot remember.

That said, the Fatima Shrine is located there.

The only other thing I know about Portugal is I think some sort of Dictator ruled it for most of the 20th century; I think he was a Facist.

That’s about all I know.

From the article, it says a Socialist political party is now in power.

Maybe some of the forum members have traveled or live in Portugal, and can tell us more about the country?

I almost hear nothing about it on TV news or in the newspapers.

Yes, I have! Will those who did, find themselves to be the new martyrs of the culture of death?

This is being passed by the Leftist government of Portugal, not by the people. Our Lady never said anything about the tyranny of the government.

Eventually, it is going to be the Church versus the State. Whether in Europe or anywhere else.

Exactly what I was thinking. Everyone, pray that the law isn’t ratified!! That’s a scary thought.
