If SSA is not something one can control, what is the point if being proud of it? People are proud of accomplishments they achieved not of things they were born with. The whole “gay pride” thing makes no sense to me.

Also, being proud of sinful urges…yeah that makes sense too!

Yay, I condone pre martial sex! YAY!!! I am soooo proud of myself!

That makes two of us

May I suggest a rereading of Luke 18:9-14. Then consider whether we are being the Pharisee or the publican.

So, you’re admitting being a practicing homosexual is a sin? I’m not saying I’m better than anyone. But I’ve had my own struggles with sin and I’ve never tried to justify my struggles as being something to be proud of or happy about.

Good. Being proud of the person you are and what you have accomplished in life is a good thing.
And what about this part Jim…

Teen4Christ:
I’m proud of who I am, not necessarily being gay.

Who do you believe was the greater sinner in this parable? Anyway we stray off topic. I don’t believe being a practicing homosexual is a sin. I believe being unfaithful to one’s partner, whoever that may be is a sin. Homosexuals should at least be given the chance to prove that on a percentage basis they can keep their relationships together as long as heterosexuals. But since we do not permit same sex marriage we cannot give any evidence of that. We do have evidence of a 50% divorce rate, which cannot be blamed on the homosexuals.

I guess your one of those “pro-gay Catholics” I have been hearing so much about.

How do you justify/explain your position (above) and still call yourself a catholic?

True- we must blame our sex-obsessed culture. To our culture, love is a mutual wanting to have sex with one another. Anyone who has been married for a long time would tell you that real love takes work.

One little issue. Because I still believe in the eucharist, I still have a devotion to the blessed mother and the saints, I am firmly against abortion, need I go on?

Oh lovely 👍
But the rest of the Churches teachings can go to hell in a hand-basket becuase they discriminate against homosexuals?
I am sorry bear with me as I am a convert to the Church but I did not know that we could pick and choose what to believe as far as the CCC.

Do you believe being a practicing single heterosexual is a sin?

Daddums 🙂
They should wait until marriage and homosexuals should be given equal opportunity. Hey I would hold homosexuals to the same standard of faithfulness. If they got married and did not stay that way I would require them to go without a second marriage.

I agree with everything but the teaching on homosexuality.

So you dont believe it is a violation of the 6th commandment?
So the Holy Catholic Church in all its wisdom has gotten this wrong?

Can you please tell me what the purpose of marriage is as the Church sees it.
