My motive was to see how others see the comparison. I have heard most SSM proponents argue that two consenting adults should be able to choose to be married. That gender should not be an issue.

Why not the same for consenting adults who are related?

All those IF ONLYs. We all live in a world that discriminates against something.
If only someone else would make me happy.
If only everyone loved me.
If only everyone accepted me.
If only people would stop being mean to me.
If only I was rich.
If only no one ever judged my actions.
If only I could be tall or short or thin for pretty.

not one of these if only’s will make you a more content person. For we can not make laws to change how we or anyone else feels. Changing the outward actions of others does not change our inward feeling of ourselves. It will not stop the suicide attempts nor make others want to be around you. In fact it just might make things worse as most humans do not want others to dictate feelings. (you don’t want us to dictate your feeling yet you want to dictate ours)

And IMHO love does not harm others it sometimes hurts when you love the wrong person. But it does not endanger the person you love and sodomy physically harms the people involved. Proven medical fact.

I was responding to a post that said I’m not letting god love me. My gayness is not the cause of my suicidal feelings, I like being gay.

Then why did you doctor tell you to be yourself? If you like being gay then this should of been a non-issue

if you are “gay and proud of it” then what others think of you should not be an issue, yet you have allowed it to be an issue, why?

As far as ignorant homophobic people, I have not seen any of them on this thread:)

What do you define as a marriage?

What do you define as lust?

What do you define as a business partnership?

I have found that seculars tend to define each of these as the same thing. The Catholic Church does not. Marriage is a sacrament not an issue of convenience.

sometimes i wonder. what is love. because according to God love do no harm to no one. love seeks not his own but to do God’s will. we should ask ourselves whatever we set ourselves to do is this right with our God? for we shall love our God above ALL things that means even above ourselves.

Your social anxiety and your family issues have nothing to do with you being gay and actively seeking a male sexual partner?
So what your saying is that your homosexuality plays NO ROLE in your suicide attempt? But then that would contradict what you said earlier that homophobia was the cause of it!
