San Fran bishop very happy about plan regarding homosexual adoption

My ‘liberal’ priest loves our new Pope.

Bishops are politicians, by the way. My bishop is an extremely diplomatic, eloquent individual who is able to see the humanity in all persons and understands the neccessity in compromise to bring people together in an imperfect world.
 
Isn’t this Bishop from San Fran the same one who is best buds with Bishop Todd Brown of the Diocese of Orange County? Good grief!
 
I live in his disocese - he has been a disaster so far. Benedict is turning into a huge disappointment. Its, IMO, akin to corporate boys network. His appointment to Washington DC is also very suspect. The exodus from the Catholic church to Eastern Orthodoxy here is accelerating with this kind of stuff going on.

but the eastern orthodox practice contraception and have not been nearly as vocal as the catholic church by in large against homosexuals and abortion. B16 is awesome, it’s the bishops who are the problem. he’s not a micro manager. read what the popes write, it’s solid catholic stuff. why don’t these bishops listen to what the popes write and preach?

i think the problem is one of politician-bishops. i love eastern christianity, i go to a byzantine church, but jumping ship to orthodox christianity is not the way to go. it’s a mortal sin. being subject to the pope is necessary to our salvation. the only thing keeping the church together, orthodox and catholic, has been the pope, eucharist, and the Blessed Virgin Imaculate Mary.

can’t they find a FSSP/indult parish or eastern catholic church to go to??

san fran is a sick twisted city. orthodox catholics are only a small minority.

The indult is not allowed here but most who convert to Orthodoxy probably would not opt for FSSP anyway.

If anything he is worse than Levada, the previous bishop, who compromised no end. Go along to get along.

Levada ended up supporting dometic partnership legislation in SF.

That the pope does not appoint a shephard for the flock here is why the church here is in virtual collapse.
 
News like these all around us …

and from the book of Esther , personal experience , as well as our Lord’s teaching about the need for fasting …yes, even a three day fasting …yet…if only the fire of charity was more aflame … and how He might be waiting , for us to be surprised - at His generosity !!
