I haven been several times in NYC, but I was refraining on makng the commit how how ridiculous your statement was. The other passengers attitudes didn’t strike me any different that what I have witnessed at 5:15p on a Monday on the DC Beltway.

Never, Bloomberg spent 69 million of his own money to get elected the first time, and he was handily elected this time, after spending just 65 million of his own money. BTW, he’s a Jewish liberal Republican billionaire.

Several times. Oh, wow!

It’s not as if everyone is hostile all the time, but people are more confrontational than elsewhere, and we do have a reputation for it. Do move here for a year or two, and you might be pining for the Carolinas.

And, it wouldn’t matter anyway if subway rides were one great big group hug. No one here wants people to carry guns.

Here in Arkansas, we trust our people to carry guns, and violent crime goes down. The same is true in Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee.

Yet, according to you, if New Yorkers were trusted with guns, violent crime would go up.

What do you think is wrong with New Yorkers that they cannot be trusted?

8 million people from every nation, language and creed, living in close quarters on a series of islands…and yet no one feels the need to carry guns. Seems like people here trust each other just fine.

You presume that the natural state is one of violence and threat where people require and demand arms for defense.

We take the law abiding, well ordered society as the norm and see no need to add guns where there’s no demand.

It all comes down to worldviews.

No, I presume a world where there are car crashes, home fires, heart attacks, break-ins and similar occurances – and where a prudent man would take precautions against all of those.

I know no one’s hostile all the time. And I did live up North for a while and was glad to move back home here in SC.
