THe article you posted confirms it too, most Puerto Ricans do not pay Federal Income taxes.

We don’t know for sure, but it seems like a plausible connection to me.
The FBI has always investigated corruption in local govt and law enforcement.

We have a whistle blower, fired, and you blame Trump.

Your case of TDS is severe.

Drug smuggling is a big deal in Puerto Rico. Once the drugs get ashore in Puerto Rico, the are IN the United States.

People smuggling is a big deal … human trafficking. Children.

The point is, it is part of the US. People there pay US taxes and are US citizens. An aid package because of a natural disaster is not charity. It is the US taking care of its own. And the aid package has not done nearly enough to recover from the disaster. So I don’t think Trump deserves any special kudos for doing what any decent person would do in his place.

To address your second point, one wonders if the charges are not being made specifically to silence a critic. It is a tactic many strongmen have used to solidify their power.
Nope.

They do not pay U.S. taxes.

For instance, shortly after the hurricane hit, the government imposed a curfew from 6 pm to 6 am and then changed it. Now, it’s 7 pm to 5 am, and makes no sense. The curfew has prevented fuel trucks from transporting their loads. These trucks should have been allowed to run for 24 hours to address our needs, but they have been stalled, and so we have massive lines at gas stations and severe shortages of diesel at our hospitals and supermarkets.

Puerto Rico is an Associated Free State.
Whose citizens are all U.S. Citizens. Similar to D.C.

I don’t think they qualify for in-state tuition like people who live in D.C. do. But they are citizens.
