How does delusions of messianicism sound? Or vanity? or nonsensical? (he’s been waiting for himself?)

Ishii
The Republicans dubbed him the messiah, not he. The right wing media named him that and then criticise him for him thinking that he thinks he is the messiah. How weird is that?

  • almost like they’re obsessed with her.
I don’t think we would pay much attention to her if she didn’t always seek media attention.

When the election was over, I thought “well, she’s going back to Alaska now”, but since (maybe) January or February of 2009, she’s always been seeking media attention

Whereas Obama will never make a great anything unless he’s got a good teleprompter in front of him.
The teleprompter controversy? People are still on that?

Geez, a speech was written and he read it. Nothing wrong with that

She was right.

And liberals… of course… launch into a “isnt she stupid” tirade… yet again.

She is awesome… nothing makes you liberals go all out nuttier than Sarah Palin.
Indeed! Very similar to how my three year old cousin makes my aunt go all out nutty.

No he pretty much pulled that one off on his own with his speech on how the waters would stop rising now that he’s elected. And Mathews leg tingle comment, and Kanye West crying…

You will provide a link to these things. I know about the Matthews quote. How is Obama responsible for this. I have no idea about Kanye West. I’m sooo tired of “urban legend” talk with no links.

I’ve been doing a little outside reading and it sounds like she has a narcississtic personality disorder. Here are the symptoms:

Symptoms
A person with narcissistic personality disorder may:

•React to criticism with rage, shame, or humiliation

•Take advantage of other people to achieve his or her own goals

•Have excessive feelings of self-importance

•Exaggerate achievements and talents

•Be preoccupied with fantasies of success, power, beauty, intelligence, or ideal love

•Have unreasonable expectations of favorable treatment

•Need constant attention and admiration

•Disregard the feelings of others, and have little ability to feel empathy

•Have obsessive self-interest

•Pursue mainly selfish goals

Narcisscism, thy name is Sarah
You just described every politician on the planet.

I think it also came from the fawning over him by his supporters - “if Obama wins I won’t have to pay for my gas or my mortgage” - and the media - " I felt this tingle going up my leg." etc. He was supposed to usher in this new era of bi-partisanship - a symbol of a new era in politics. blah blah. He ended up being one of the most partisan liberal presidents in history.

“Urban legend” talk?

The only thing I was going off of memory on was Kanye West. Him and Oprah came out of Obama’s speech and he was talking about how Obama changed his life. Right around that time he assaulted a photographer, then he pulled off his drunken moment on Taylor Swift. Then Obama turns around and called him a “Jackass”!

Now don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with a rapper or any black man crying over Obama’s election. But don’t get me started on Kanye the backstabber unless you know a little bit about rap music. Then we can take that argument somewhere else.

Now who’s calling names?

Plus, it wasn’t me that suggested the idea.
Liberal is not normally a derogatory term  Most liberals are only too happy to refer to themselves as liberals.
As a proponent of our liberal democracy, and liberal civil society myself, I tend not to differentiate my own conservative leanings from liberalism, but from the left, which does not share with liberals the classic admiration of individual rights, and has stressed group rights and the rights of government over individual rights more and more in recent decades.

Calling someone an airhead is nothing but a derogatory term. Like calling someone a sexist, bigot, islamophobe, intolerant, racist, etc., this character assassination is just too common an argument from today’s left and even today’s liberals.
From what I gather from Sjtud’s post on history, Palin was basically correct in what she said.

Before you go any further down this road, here’s something you should read:

The Palin Apologists Strike Back!

Over at the other tread, we already determined (in a bipartisan fashion) that Palin is an airhead. 😉
I am constantly amazed at people who claim to be “pro-life” and yet spend their time deriding one of the movements biggest proponents on a national level.

Minorities may not have seen beyond Obama’s skin color when they voted, but at least they had the sense to look past his many mistakes and gaffes and see him as somehow who was making strides for Black Americans and be content with that. (Not that i endorse their herd mentaility, but at least they saw which was a bigger deal; having a Black president, or one who didn;t make gaffes).

There are times when I like Palin, and times when she annoys me, and frankly, she isn’t going to be the nominee. But Obama and Biden have said just as many funny things, and they get excused. Obama because he is a Harvard grad and clearly “too smart” to not actually know what he meant to say, and Biden because he’s “funny” and a caricature.

I just question people’s sincerity about a cause when they insist on telling how devout they are (in this case pro-life), and take every topic to hammer some of their movement’s biggest endorsers over far less important things.

But this is the internet, and no one ever said every poster had to be sincere either, I suppose.

That’s one error. It’s another thing if you make multiple errors
He’s made multiple errors, of many different kinds.
  • Attended a bogus Church with a racist buffoon as its leader
  • Lashed out at NE police when they arrested a black man without realizing they were doing their job, and had to apologize
  • Defending abortion by claiming he wouldn’t want his daughters punished by a mistake
  • Believing everything he does, since 98% of it is garbage and terrible ideas.
  • Failing at doing anything to move the economy forward, including incentives for hiring.
Also, if you want idiiotic things he’s said, here are a few…

“One such translator was an American of Haitian descent, representative of the extraordinary work that our men and women in uniform do all around the world – Navy Corpse-Man Christian Brossard.” –mispronouncing “Corpsman” (the “ps” is silent) during a speech at the National Prayer Breakfast, Washington, D.C., Feb. 5, 2010 (The Corpsman’s name is also Christopher, not Christian)

“I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any seances.” --after saying he had spoken with all the living presidents as he prepared to take office, Washington, D.C., Nov. 7, 2008 (Obama later called Nancy Reagan to apologize)

“I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.” – defending his tax plan to Joe the Plumber, who argued that Obama’s policy hurts small-business owners like himself, Toledo, Ohio, Oct. 12, 2008

“What I was suggesting – you’re absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith…” --in an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, who jumped in to correct Obama by saying “your Christian faith,” which Obama quickly clarified (Watch video clip)

“I’m here with the Girardo family here in St. Louis.” --speaking via satellite to the Democratic National Convention, while in Kansas City, Missouri, Aug. 25, 2008

“Let me introduce to you the next President – the next Vice President of the United States of America, Joe Biden.” --slipping up while introducing Joe Biden at their first joint campaign rally, Springfield, Illinois, Aug. 23, 2008

“Let me be absolutely clear. Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. It will be a strong friend of Israel’s under a McCain…administration. It will be a strong friend of Israel’s under an Obama administration. So that policy is not going to change.” --Amman, Jordan, July 22, 2008

“It’s not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.” --explaining his troubles winning over some working-class voters

“The point I was making was not that Grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn’t. But she is a typical white person, who, if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn’t know, you know, there’s a reaction that’s been bred in our experiences that don’t go away and that sometimes come out in the wrong way, and that’s just the nature of race in our society.”

“Come on! I just answered, like, eight questions.” --exasperated by reporters after a news conference

“You’re likeable enough, Hillary.” --during a Democratic debate

“In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died – an entire town destroyed.” --on a Kansas tornado that killed 12 people

I hear you, He Man.

At least people like that provide me with the opportunity to post photos like the one below. And if they’re really pro-life, my photos shouldn’t bother them.

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

The above photo was taken by me at the March for Life rally in Washington, DC in January, 2010.

Paul Revere rode for liberty.
