Even if that was true, that wasn’t part of his ride. I don’t think he would want to be detected by the people who would possibly kill him
So what exactly was that she said that you find to be incorrect? Hopefully we are not going to get into a semantics discussion as to what constitutes “a ride”, when it officially ends and whether we should give more credence to a poem than the actual historical event.

The truth is this is been a teachable moment for the country. I have found out more about Paul Revere’s ride in the last few days than I did in my whole life. I was unaware he been captured by the British and I was unaware that he told them the militia was coming. Hats off to Sarah Palin for her evidently far superior knowledge of US history than most of us.

It wasn’t part of his plans when he set out, but it became part if his ride whether he liked it or not.

This is the same lady who didn’t know what the “Fed” (federal reserve) was. This is the same lady that didn’t know we ever fought the Korean War and who thought that North Korea was a friendly nation and that North and South were one country. This is the same lady who quit half way through a simple term as governor and can’t even account for what magazines or books she reads. It’s a sad commentary that the hardcore conservative right wing is so desperately wanting a shining knight or dame a la Reagan that they’ve gotten to the point that knowing history, knowing the law, knowing economics, knowing American history, that’s all overrated. What matters to most Republicans and Tea Partiers is that you hate abortion and like to hunt and that you hate the government. Satisfy those measly requirements and you’re an instant hero…“you betcha!”

What’s next, Palin thinks that Godzilla and Mothra were real prehistoric creatures? :D:p

It’s sad that this generation of Republicans actually make Obama look GOOD! I think Obama is possibly the weakest Democrat since Carter, maybe worse in some ways, and yet still he seems appealing compared to this travesty of a group…
Palin actually makes Obama look good? Even more frightening, she actually makes George W. Bush look good!

Gurney, tell me it isn’t so…Godzilla IS real!

Just heard the Presidential historian Douglas Brinkley criticizing Sarah Palin’s account on CNN, saying she patched together different episodes. But, of course, he may be one of those liberal historians.

The South started out planning on winning the Civil War, that plan didn’t work out either. Does the end result matter?

Yep, she may have been able to articulate it better had it not been on the fly like that. But after reading through several different pages, which seem to be reliable. He was caught, he was questioned by more than one British soldier, and the folks did ring bells and fire muskets.

Just what exactly about her account did he say was incorrect? Again it looks like we are getting into a semantics argument about what constitutes “his ride” or what constitutes an “episode”-all of which looks to me like people trying to weasel out of the fact that she was absolutely correct in what she said and those who jumped on her initially look like utter fools.

All this over a correct account of an event that happened over 200 years ago.

Perhaps people would be better served if the media outlets dissected the President’s speech he gave on Saturday.

washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker/post/president-obamas-phony-accounting-on-the-auto-industry-bailout/2011/06/06/AG3nefKH_blog.html

We have a president playing fast an loose with the facts that are going to cost the tax payers BILLIONS but the concern is the INTENT of Paul Revere when he saddled his horse…

But she didn’t say it with iambic rhythm, how can be correct without iambic rhythm?

Maybe if Palin could be candid about mistakes and move on, instead of blaming media people, this whole thing would be over with.

Apologize for being right and letting them make fools of themselves? I guess it’s the Christian thing to do.

Palin could say the world is flat and no doubt her followers would defend her as being correct and rush to change wikipedia to match.

:banghead:

She was right.

Palin could say the world is round and liberals would rush to call her an idiot.

I wasn’t paying such close attention, but from what I heard there may have been two rides. Check it out. Personally, I don’t even care whether or not Palin got it wrong, or the fact she constantly blames the liberal media for trying to get her. By today’s standards, with the bar so low, she’s probably qualified to be President. I don’t agree with her on most of the issues, and that’s why I wouldn’t vote for her, not because of her lack of qualifications.

She has every right to blame the liberal media.

They deserve every bit of it.

Since when were the qualifications to be President set so high? It’s the smartest and most wealthiest than have run it into the ground.

Does that mean you would prefer a stupid, poor person as President? You’ll get half your wish if Palin is elected.

Palins anything but poor.

I know a guy with an 8th grade education who would run circles around Obama in the common sense race.

I also know a doctor who grew up in a trailer park.

I think we should look for strong and wise over academic pedigree.

That being said, why not look at a poor man?

I have nothing against a poor or wise man. I don’t think we can afford a stupid person at this time in our history. My statement is based on your saying the smartest and wealthiest people have destroyed this country. Like FDR, for example, or JFK? I would take a Nixon, Johnson, or Clinton as well over the choices we have today.
