Hi
This is for a work of fiction. I want to know your opinions. If a servant of the devil fully (or partially) possessed a good man on earth, what would he seek to accomplish? I’ve already written down that the followers of his cult would commit suicide by burning churches along with captured Christians so that they can meet their satanic master in hell and the Christians could be torture. Do you have any other ideas. What would an ultimate goal of the leader be?

Just my opinion but there are many other topics you could write on that wouldn’t open a door to the evil one. Please reconsider using your God given talents for other topics.

I have a much more interesting topic you could write about, the satan is old world,

Sci fi , that’s what my story would be about, aliens take a shift worker back to there home planet,🍿

👍 In many of the books I’ve enjoyed the most, characters in some way exhibit the best of human nature, giving the reader a glimpse of the highest potential of humanity. I tend to avoid books about mass murderers, etc.

To the OP: Keep those ideas coming. Put your imagination to work and keep on writing. Sci-fi author Jerry Pournelle once wrote that an author has to write about a million words in order to develop the skills necessary to write well. He said you might as well throw away the first million, and publish the second million, but you have to write the first million anyway.

I teach young people. When they ask “should I read this book?” and it’s about the devil, or the DaVinci Code type books, I always remind them that reading fiction is not evil in and of itself. But don’t go making anyone rich by buying these books. It will just encourage them to print more things that are simply not true, and many young people are not capable of telling the difference.
Write something that has a great story line, but doesn’t give the devil face time.
Just my 2 cents.
Maybe that doesn’t excite you, but it would be a better place to be…creatively.

Sorry but this literally made me laugh out loud.

Me thinks you should start over completely.

well, ultimately, Satans main goal is to drive as many people as possible away from God, not really so they can worship him, but as long as people arent worshiping God anymore, Im sure this pleases him.

Regarding the motives behind possessions, that is a good question, if Satan can influence someones mind enough for them to stop worshipping God, I would think this would be good enough for him, and in this modern world, he is doing VERY well, doesnt take much these days to sway someones opinions or beliefs. but to actually possess a persons body, seems a bit overkill to me, if they change their beliefs and stop praying to God, going to mass, etc. then they are already lost, no point in possessing them, as Satan already won them over…?? Good question!

First problem-- fully possessed a good man on earth. Wouldn’t happen.

Second problem- can’t remember who said it but it’s something along the lines that Satan’s greatest trick was to convince people he doesn’t exist.

So, I don’t think he’d do dramatic attacks on Christians. I think his goal would be the gradual erosion of morality. Government based on the concept of envy/coveting what others have, destruction of the family through no fault divorce, people holding their own immediate gratification as being more important than love or responsibility to others, changing the view of women from being the respected mothers- source of life and center of the family… and valued partners into being treated as sexual playthings/toys to be used enabled by maybe easy access to contraception and abortion. The alienation of kids from parents and their own doubting of self-worth and any sort of permanence of love given no-fault rampant divorce. Kids being raised by same-sex couples wondering if they meant anything to their biological parent or were just a commodity. Something to be sold/given to some other person…
