Well, keep your mind occupied, rather than wavering and wandering, make an act of contrition that God will believe, and keep your pants zipped up.
I find it helps to concentrate on hammers, saws, wrenches, drills, workbenches and rusty automobile frames as a detraction; however, sometimes I find myself over-tempted by those tools, and I get myself into trouble from “the good deals I got at the Craftsman Tool Sale” at Sears last weekend. Hey, I’ll bet even Saint Joe occasionally spent a bit too much on his hardware store jaunts… “But Mary, I’ll NEED this tool in a couple of weeks…”
To which Mary probably replies: “Joe, Joe, my poor husband Joe… What I should gonna do with you? Always, always, you go down to Manny & Izzak’s store to buy just ONE chisel, and always, always those two chiseler guys talk you into buying a mallet or a hammer or an adz or something else to go along with the chisel; I should go down to their store and give them what for!” Oye! Yi! Oye! I’m a-gonna talk to their mamma, I know her very well, and she should not be raising her boys to be such a schmuck like that…
“Jesus, you come a-with me…I’m gonna go get you Grandma Anne and we gonna have a talk with that mamma with such chutzpah who raised her Manny & Izzak to be such a schmuck to my poor Joseph who just tries so hard to keep a roof over our poor blessed heads and a Kosher chicken in the kitchen…” “And I bet you she don’t even remember to properly hang her chicken to drain like Moses told us, and probably doesn’t even use the right kind of salt, either…”
Get back to something worthwhile, Jack… Another Jack had some troubles a couple days ago at OshKosh… he’s still recuperating, though, but I probably couldn’t quote a few of the things he said about the ATC’s when his bizjet “bought the grass.”
