A woman inscribed Satanic symbols upon the shrine where what may be Veronica’s Veil is enshrined. According to an ancient story, Veronica gave her veil to Christ on his way to Calvary, and when Christ wiped his face with it, an image of his face remained on the veil. Though this may or may not be Veronica’s veil, the attack this woman made is quite genuine. After hiding in the church when it closed, she tried to break the shatter-proof glass protecting the veil, and when she failed, inscribed Satanic symbols on the reliquary protecting the relic, and elsewhere there. But a camera captured her assault, and the police now are looking for her.
