Which part made you laugh the most?

I laughed the most when the parishioners let out a muffled laugh in response to the joke.

I could relate to it all. Whoever put the skit together knows it all very well.

I laughed most when the priest changed how fast he was singing and the the part about the lectors.

The lector part was my favorite too. I love all her pauses. “A READING…from the letter of St. Paul…to the Corinthians.” That is dead on. :rotfl:
 
The ironic thing about the sketch is that it mirrors the irreverance of many many novus ordo masses.
 
I was trying to tell if they were in an episcopal church or catholic church. I noticed the church had red doors like an episcopal church.
It was hilarious though.

My theology professor who is from the US says this Latin Mass vs. Novus Ordo thing is a mostly Western issue. Being from a country in Asia yet being very Westernized, we don’t have that kind of issue at all. If Latin Mass was ever promoted heavily by the Church here in the Philippines it would be seen as neo-imperialism; because we Filipinos need a liturgy that speaks our tongue and a liturgy in which we can easily understand because its our faith as well.

Personally Latin Mass, Novus Ordo, who cares 🤷? So long as Jesus is fully honored, the Mass is celebrated beautifully - in its own way, and there are no liturgical abuses, it’s fine with me.

Seriously? It was a skit making fun of stereotypes. Can you not take a joke? I’m sure if the TLM was prominent, they would make a skit about it. Everyone is perfect at the TLM? No sweaty hand guy or a kid sitting there because he is forced to go?

It is comments about irreverence and similar comments that makes me refuse to even check out the extraordinary form. All I can think of is people with their noses in the air, making fun of other forms of mass that are totally approved by the church.

Pretty narrow minded of you not to even entertain attending the tridentine mass, which was the face of catholicism for over a millinium.

I never “made fun” of the novus ordo mass.I believe this site does not allow a discussion of the merits or shortcomings of either type of mass.
