I don’t think we have enough information to judge the legitimacy of this prize or not. The guy has his own TV channel and reaches 100 million people and all we know about him is a couple snippets of things he has said over the years .

Because the Palestinians have been inundated with propaganda all their lives!! Why do you suppose that Hamas will do good for the people of Palestine?

p.s. As Darryl said, there is no excuse for the violence, anti-Semitic antics that are spreading on North American campuses and in public demonstrations/parades!! It is an ever growing problem.

Anybody can put anything on YouTube. That’s hardly probative.

Hamas became popular in Palestine in reaction to Yasser Arafat’s theft of money intended for development in Gaza. Gazans perceived Fatah as corrupt for that reason and rejected it at the polls. Hamas then proceeded to kill, exile and imprison Fatah officials. Ultimately, some of the money was recovered by Fatah from Arafat’s widow, but since it had been ousted from Gaza, and Hamas had turned it into a terror state, it did not share the money.

Since then, as has been amply demonstrated, Hamas has trained even little kids to be of a terrorist mindset. Hamas is the ISIS of the Levant, a proposition to which Egypt would likely agree as well.

So what? Lots of things are put on the news. Sometimes it’s accurate, and sometimes it’s not. Sometimes it’s in context, and sometimes it isn’t. Some reporters check things out well, and some don’t. It may be mentioned, too, that Haaretz is a leftist publication that opposes the current government of Israel.

Doesn’t change the fact that King Salman of Saudi Arabia awarded the top prize to this preacher who claims that 9/11 was an inside job.

This is different from asserting that the award was given to the preacher BECAUSE he said that 9/11 was an inside job.

It seems the mans defense of Islam in general was the point, not marginal speculation on who caused 9/11.

No, I’m not asserting that (and neither did the author of the article), although I’m sure the king was aware that this particular preacher was promulgating such conspiracies to tens of millions of viewers, despite the fact that the Saudis were allies of the U.S during and after the 9/11.
