Reality check, please. For the Pope to recognize Mohammed as a ‘true’ prophet would essentially mean for Christianity to accept Islam as the ‘true’ religion. It will not happen.
At least you realize te extent of such a proclaimation. To declare Mohammed a true profit would be to deny Christianity.

Every single person who has ever lived in the history of humankind will eventually recognise Muhammad (pbuh) as a true Prophet of God.

It would however be a whole lot better to wholeheartedly accept this while one is still alive because it will not do someone much good at all if he or she only accepts this after death.
Mohammed was a false prophet who beieved in lies. I am supised that someone as smart as you do not see through the lies.

what the Saudis are saying is simple : no church will be build in SA.

Its like saying : we build a church when cats fly.😉

Probably for the best. We all know the teaching about building a house on sand anyway. 😃

That church is in Qatar, not Saudi Arabia. Completely different thing. The Qatar gov’t had no conditions (such as recognizing Muhammed) to their permission to build a church.

Don’t try to confuse the issue.

Not if you declared him to be a true profit. He did make a good deal of money on the deal.

Sorry, I just couldn’t resist the pun.

I do not believe Saudis put conditions. When they say we must accept Muhammad as a prophet, they are simply saying we will not build a church here since they know we will never accept Muhammad as a prophet from God…again, it’s like saying : i let you out of jail if you pay me a billion dollar, when you know i do not have money…in this case it’s not a condition, but an indirect refusal.

I will go wherever the bishop goes. whatever he decides to do is fine with me. the CC makes decisions wright or wrong catholics just dont leave. One Holy Apostolic Catholic Church.

We will say: Lord, to whom should we go? for we know you have the words of eternal life.

JESUS I TRUST IN YOU. St Faustina

Maybe here fits the famous TAQIYYA of Islam 😉 you do whatever necessary to promote your faith, even lying 😉

but even if we all claim to accept Muhammad as a prophet from God in order to build our church, will the Saudis accept?😉 …no Christian accepts Muhammad and stays Christian…in the end, we would build the church by taking them for stupid…which they wont accept…in other words, even if we accept to boost their egos, they won’t accept because they know we will never truly accept him…

their “condition” is simply a big refusal.

Yes I was over sensentional.
No, that wasn’t exaggerating, that was lying. Some poor person read that title and didn’t enter the thread and now they think the Pope supports Muhammad.

Nice work, by any means necessary, huh?

My questions to Catholics is will you remain Catholic when a future Pope makes concessions to the Muslims?
You do know that the Pope isn’t a Protestant, right?

He and the Church would never do such things. Protestants, however, have including the leader of the Anglicans.

You should read about St. Francis and his efforts to try to convert the Muslims.

FoA,
There is a post dedicated to that, dont bring it up again, the pope kissed it out of respect, not cause he believed in it, BIG difference!

Yes, the Catholic church does recognize Mohammed…
As a no good liar and false prophet.
And i doubt if it will ever see him as more than that!

Here the Pope kisses the Quran and acknowledges its authority.

Praise Allah.

I would not be so presumptuous if I were you. I’m sure you have never ever seen the Pope actually use the Quran as authority for anything pertaining to teaching or faith.

There is a difference between agreement and respect. In this case JP2 is showing respect for the sake of ecumenicism. Being ecumenical and then stomping on someones holy book is not progress.

Yes I will remain Catholic. Its is sad that most of the world has long forgotton that Jews, Muslims, and Christians are all brothers, because of the fact we are all descendens of Abraham

If I were to take a Muslim point of view in defense of PJPTG.
  1. he is not kissing the book, he is reading an inscription of the book.
  2. This is not the Koran.
3.This picture has been modified, from the Pope kissing the Gospels.
  3. They have a gun pointed to his back.
This picture states nothing of the Pope as acknowledging its authority… I take it as the Pope respecting the Muslim culture. The Pope even kisses the ground, does that mean the Ground is a god with authority? They use to say a picture says a thousand words, today a picture can be made to say anything.

Jesus states " give to ceasar what is ceasars, and to God what is God’s".

Ceremonial?:hmmm: A man after Mohammeds heart I am sure.

God is so great…that even the misconception the Koran paints of Him has an element due respect and that is what the Pope is honoring by his kiss. John Paul the Great is aptly applied if for nothing more than this. He is a much greater man than I and without his example I could not kiss the Quran. I could now however in the manner in which the Pope did if it served an honorable purpose. It honors God, not Mohammed.

Would you kiss the bible?
More important…would the Muslim man kissing the Moslem boy kiss the Catholic bible? Maybe he shouldn’t when you come to think of it, but would he?

Oh, my goodness, I wasn’t expecting that picture, you sure got me off guard. You can have good laugh on me. I just ate dinner, and you show this right now, you are sick minded to do this right now. thanks alot:(
