What is even worse, the killing, either by murder or state-sponsored execution, of former Muslims who convert to Christianity if frightfully common.
It should be pointed out that in Saudi Arabia, the penalty for converting from Islam is death. As this was carried out by the religious police, and apparently the father was part of the religious police, he may only incur a “conflict of interest” penalty, that is if he is punished at all. Other than some possible procedures, what happened to this poor young martyr is perfectly legal in Saudi Arabia. Do not forget that.
