news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081212/ap_on_re_eu/eu_vatican_bioethics

and in it it said:
VATICAN CITY – The Vatican hardened its opposition Friday to using embryos for stem cell research, cloning and in-vitro fertilization. But it showed flexibility on some forms of gene therapy and using vaccines prepared with cell lines derived from aborted fetuses.
I know Yahoo! is run by a bunch of liberals, and I’ve seen then distort the words of the Church in various forms. Is this another spin?

Chaldean Rite, the article was written by the AP. Yahoo doesn’t produce any news articles, it merely is a news aggregator.

But here is what the actual document says:
According to this criterion, the use of ‘biological material’ of illicit origin would be ethically permissible provided there is a clear separation between those who, on the one hand, produce, freeze and cause the death of embryos and, on the other, the researchers involved in scientific experimentation
Thus, for example, danger to the health of children could permit parents to use a vaccine which was developed using cell lines of illicit origin, while keeping in mind that everyone has the duty to make known their disagreement and to ask that their healthcare system make other types of vaccines available.
